Wesley, the Manchurian Candidate (Vanity)
KC Burke's noodle | 19 Sep 03 | KC Burke

Posted on 09/19/2003 10:00:22 AM PDT by KC Burke

Arkansas native Rhodes Scholar. Too obvious for words, just goose bumps.

Since he and Clinton met in the sixties for the first time, there has been plenty of time for unnoticed overlap.

The full list of Clinton cadre is running his show, one could almost say the “A” team. But this is a guy that was fired and somewhat dissed at the end of the administration. What’s up with that?

Actually, “taking a bullet” for the Clinton cause is a time honored sign of his most loyal sycophants. It explains some of my theory.

But what is this Manchurian Candidate being readied to do?

I have a theory that seems better than those given by the commentators on Fox and elsewhere.

Like the movie, it will happen at the convention. He will nominate Hillary to run as his Vice Presidential candidate.

“What (!?!?)”, you say. “Hillary doesn’t want that job.” Bear with me.

With an incumbent in office the odds of any defeat are small. Say what you will about the orchestrated media perception of diminished support, Bush is very strong. If Hillary were to run she faces probable defeat. If she doesn’t she is diminished by whomever does….If he wins. She is then out until 2012. Even with a Democrat defeat she is off the national stage.

However, a Wesley stalking horse with her as VP gives her the chance to:

Stay Senator
Keep her promise to serve her term
Avoid the problem of defeat in NY in 2006 as she will announce her 2008 bid in time to avoid running.
And yet take the national stage, this year and next, to ready her image for a 2008 run.
Be back in Washington on the off chance that Wesley wins if Team Bush stumbles
Possibly sit knowing Wes has baggage that will cause him to loose

So there you have it. Upon “activation” the Manchurian Candidate nominates Hillary.

The fix is in.

Talk amongst yourselves. But if you run with it, you better give FR credit.

Avoid the problem of defeat in NY in 2006 as she will announce her 2008 bid in time to avoid running.

Good point. She's toast in NY, contrary to what her "spouce equivalent" had to say.
She has no other place to go.

I think your analysis is spot-on. The only thing I would add is that if Bush looks vulnerable, Hillary will be "drafted" and Clark will be the VP.

When Gen. Clark got word that Russian forces were about to occupy the Serbian airport at Pristina, he ordered British Lt. Gen. Michael Jackson to parachute troops onto the tarmac to confront the Red Army.

Gen. Jackson flatly refused to obey Clark's direct command, reportedly telling the general-turned-presidential candidate, "I'm not going to start the Third World War for you."

Gen. Jackson isn't the only military man who has expressed concern that the would-be president is something of a loose cannon

Add the ficticious "mass murders" in Yougoslavia, the slaughter in Somalia, and this guy has no future.

I think you are off on your anaylis. Hilary as a VP would eclipse anyone with presidential ambition and be more of a drain than a asset. How does she benifit Wesley she may bring funds and instant momentum, but what a deal with the devil.

I doubt that hillary would run second on anyone's ticket. She would consider it demeaning. And to some extent, she has a point. She has done little or nothing to earn a reputation, but that doesn't bother her admirers, who think she's NOW's gift to humanity.

Clark will graciously agree to serve as her running mate.

Note that the Kennedys and similar types are desperately endorsing Ketchup Boy today. It isn't because he's losing to Dean, which has been going on for some time. It's because of Clark's entry into the race. The Kennedys probably see this as their last chance to remain dominant in the party, before the clintonoids pick up all the chips.

Well, the Kenndys will still have numbers, and time, on their side. There is only 1 person in the next generation of Clintonoids, only Chelesea, and the Kennedys can out breed them if nothing else. It's a big clan.

I don't know. Hillary will lose re-election in NY. That's quite a body slam.
If she, "a woman" (sort of - so they say), hangs onto Clarks coat tails like she did the rapist, she could get her "female president" foot in the door.
Once she starts to run the place, putting Clark back into his cage, she can then claim "qualification" in 2008.
Incrementalism? It will prepare the minds of her brain defecient supporters and the uninformed for a "woman" (dyke) left wing extremists socialist president. She will promise then more tax payer manna than ever before. "Bow down and worship me, and all this can be yours."

PS...

It's our job to remind people the discraced, impeached, womanizing, traderous rapist will be back in the White House with it if it ever runs.
That ought to wake up the American people if anything can!

Indeed, I expect them to do that - based on Bill's hints, Soro's investment and Bush's alleged decline in the polls. That would leave Dean and all the not-Arkansas crowd furious though.

When I said "sit" (in the catbird seat) and wait for Clark's "baggage" to hit the floor, your possibility was one of the possibilities I had in mind. Likewise, assuming Bush doesn't have a major set back causing Hillary to move forward early, the convention floor might be too late for Wesley to recieve his preprogramed hynotic trigger. He may "demand" that Hillary "sacrifice" and join his campaign prior to his winning the nomination.

As others have pointed out, Party Power is a parallel to National Power and while not a substitute it can be solace if they can't grasp the later.
