At the risk of enraging the gods of political correctness, it is time that someone asks the NAACP why it wants to derail a movement that appears to improve the educational performance of black students.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People wants federal money withheld from Florida schools because high-school graduation requires passing an exam on which blacks fare poorly.
The NAACP effort has national implications because Florida's system of standards, accountability and what it calls "high-stakes testing" conforms to what is going on in most other states and the direction of federal education policy.
The Florida funding-cutoff complaint is "the first out of the box," but other states will follow, said Adora Obi Nweze, Florida NAACP head.
The national NAACP is behind this effort to challenge President Bush's education game plan.

Go ahead, condemn another generation to the plantation. They are playing fools to the schools. My apologies to Rhymin' man.

Hmm ... this looks like a "De-mancipation Proclamation" for Florida's students. Sigh.

What is the NAACP thinking? Probably something along the lines of, "How can we fool 'em today?" or, "What next can we blame on whitey?"

The naacp.....wants federal money withheld from Florida schools because high-school graduation requires passing an exam on which blacks fare poorlyPerhaps if the parents made the decision to sit down and study with their kids once in a while(How can anyone pass a test if you can't read, for instance) this wouldn't be an issue.

They're thinking they might get punished horribly by their white slavemasters if any more coloreds get off the plantation.
