Brian Douglas Wells, 46, was killed Thursday when the bomb attached to his neck detonated while he and police were waiting for the bomb squad to arrive.

Police probably could not have saved Wells from the bomb if it was armed with a timing device, FBI special agent Ken McCabe, whose agency is helping in the investigation, said.

Either that, or a passer-by made a little money by selling a photography to the media.

Truly a strange story. If he was forced to do this, and got away with it, the thugs would likely have killed him afterwards anyway.

But wait! I thought the police could ALWAYS protect us better than we could ourselves.

There's a reason why, when I used to deliver pizzas, I ALWAYS took along a "little surprise", company policy be damned. I didn't take an oath to die for Pizza Hut.

Truly a tragic, sad story, if the man was indeed the victim. There is no logical, sane reason why this man should not have had at least the option to protect himself, if his record was clean.

In one of yesterday's threads, someone noted that the TV station home office is in the same street. They only had to go a couple of hundred yards.

"He pulled a key out and started a timer. I heard the thing ticking when he did it. It's going to go off. I'm not lying."

Why would the victim pull the key out himself and start the timer? This changes everything.

"Wells also described someone arming the device and strapping it to him."

Can you please provide any information idicating he was denied the opportunity to carry a weapon.

It would probably take too much space to cite all the myriad idiotic gun control laws in this country. But the bottom line is that he probably was a victim of the cultural brainwashing that says "guns are bad". This message is plastered everywhere.

You're welcome. :)

It's not hard to miss details on the morning after Labor Day weekend, especially until the caffiene takes effect.

During a stint of temporary unemployment, my husband delivered pizza for both Pizza Hut and Papa Johns, both companies had policies that delivery drivers were not allowed to carry weapons of any sort.

Policies be damned though, he did carry and thankfully never had to use them.

Yet one more good reason to retire to PA after the military. Now, if ya'll can do something about all that road construction...I could swear they had the same construction projects going on in the Lancaster area 2 years ago.

Haven't been there for several years but your right about the roads. If they aren't torn up under construction they should be.

Logically speaking, one would have to provide evidence that he /was\ allowed to carry a firearm. I highly doubt any pizza delivery firm in the country would officially permit their employees to carry. Liability concerns, don't you know.

To add insult to injury, the courts have ruled (sound familiar?) that it is illegal to decline delivery to known high crime areas. That, in a nutshell, shows the downright evil of "liberalism" in the aggregate.

Very strange case. How was the explosive devise afixed to his body? It should have been quite obvious to anyone that movement was not what was designed to set off the device so why was no attempt made to remove it. Gotta hand it to the authorities at least they got everyone out of the way, including themselves. The pictures of the explosion must have been gruesome.

Did this guy give the police any details about the person who allegedly strapped this bomb on him? This story seems fishy.
