California: In face of recall, Davis has finally started to govern

The fax machine at my favorite newspaper has been jammed the past several weeks with press releases from Gov. Gray Davis' office. All of a sudden, he's making judicial appointments, signing consumer privacy legislation, announcing flood control and ecosystem grants, discussing school reform. If the volume of paper coming out of the governor's office is any indication, Davis has been working 24/7.

Davis is now "acting like a Governor"?

Too late.

He's also signing bills that he probably shouldn't, showing that Davis' worst instincts still can override his good sense.

Gee, Fresno Bee, could we expand on that a little bit?

To paraphrase a colleague: If we'd known that a recall election would make him start acting like a governor, someone should have done this five years ago.

Boren is well known, local, liberal, political hack. He sees the world through utopian eyes.

Boren hasn't the slightest notion that the recall was fomented to STOP Davis from acting. Boren hasn't the slightest inkling that most Californias shutter when Davis acts.

Anything Davis does between now and his removal will be for the most ignoble reasons. So he hasn't changed at all. He's just do his damage alittle quicker.

All Gray Davis has done is make people dislike him even more. And in a state that's solidly Democratic, Large Breasts is still in the political cellar when he should be out on top. Methinks the liberals at the Sacramento Bee are in serious denial.
