Simple cut-and-paste campaign to expose Cruz Bustamante (only takes 30 seconds of your time)

Posted on 08/30/2003 10:34:37 AM PDT by jmstein7

Here is a letter you can email to your local paper or to the media email addresses below. Simply cut and paste it into an email, and off it goes. The more they get, the better. Of course, feel free to improvise. While the content seems self-evident to us, and pedantic, this is along the lines of something they will actually print:

______________________________________________________

Jeers to the major media outlets for giving the Cruz Bustamante, only Democratic candidate in the California recall, a free pass on his refusal to denounce or explain his ties with MEChA, a known racist, extremist organization.

The silence is deafening, and it raises serious questions about the objectivity of the mainstream press. Can it be that they have a vested interest in this candidate’s success?

Compare and digest: 85% of the media voted for Clinton and endorsed the position that his sexual escapades in the Oval Office were “private” and, therefore, a non-issue. However, the stories, and analysis, about Arnold’s escapades in the 1970s are endless. At the same time, the same major press that is so fascinated with Arnold has not put forth a single story questioning Mr. Bustamante’s refusal to repudiate ties with a racist organization.

The only difference between Arnold and Bustamante: Arnold has an (R) after his name. Is this endemic of a widespread, systematic, press-wide conspiracy against Republicans?

please let me know if any of these addresses are bad, and, if any are, which ones, so I can delete them from further email campaigns. Also, if you could check in after doing this, that would be great -- a count would help to let us know how many have gone out.

Also, a CORRECTION:

"the Cruz Bustamante, only Democratic candidate in"

should read:

"Cruz Bustamante, the only Democratic candidate in"

CORRECTED VERSION:

Jeers to the major media outlets for giving Cruz Bustamante, the only Democratic candidate in the California recall, a free pass on his refusal to denounce or explain his ties to MEChA, a known racist, extremist organization.

However, the stories, and analyses, about Arnold’s escapades in the 1970s are endless. At the same time, the same major press that is so fascinated with Arnold has not put forth a single story questioning Mr. Bustamante’s REFUSAL to repudiate ties with a racist organization, and how extensive his involvement was.

The only difference between Arnold and Bustamante: Arnold has an (R) after his name. Is this endemic of a widespread, systematic, press-wide conspiracy against Republicans?

"Cruz Bustamante, the only Democratic candidate in"

...Make it "Cruz Bustamante, the only Democrat candidate in".

I never refer to the Democrat party as Democratic. There's not much Democratic about socialist or communist states, what seems to be their model "goal". Even so we live in a Republic, not a Democracy. Why should we play along with the Democrats on that?

Thanks! The more of these we can get out (from different people and, hopefully, with modification and customization) the better.

The hypocricy of the press never fails to amaze. Remember how they pushed and propagated the "Bush DUI" story (from the 70s)? And now, all of a sudden, the past doesn't matter?

I agree. Folks should word this in their own way, incorporating what you have provided. Adding a little more might not hurt, but it should be short and on point.

Whent the same exact memo comes across their desk from many people, they just ignore them.

I agree. Keeping it short, sweet, and different is what gets a "letter to the editor" printed. I've gotten a few into the Post and WSJ that way. Too many FReepers write long diatribes.

They are crucifying Cruz on Fox right now :)

Don't forget. If Bustamante won't renounce his membership or the MECHA beliefs, MECHA is not a part of his past. It is a part of his present. He has demonstrated that he is at this very momment a racist separatist.

I like to think that FReepers are in part responsible for keeping this story alive and giving it legs.

I never refer to the Democrat party as Democratic.

Me neither....and to tell the truth, I believe the term "Democrat" is more technically correct.

What's even better, though,is that calling them the "Democrat Party" pisses them off....kinda like a racial slur.
