August 27, 2003 -- President Bush yesterday renewed his promise to see the War on Terror through to a successful conclusion, as if anybody still doubts it.

Speaking to a convention of the American Legion, the president spoke of the lesson learned by terrorists since 9/11.

"Five years ago, one of the terrorists said that an attack could make America run in less than 24 hours. They're learning something different today.

And who was President 5 years ago???

Oh, you remember the guy Mo, he's the one who tucked tail and ran in Mogodishu. The one who gave the terrorists the impression we'd just take an attack laying down.

And now Nikita Dean thinks we're too soft to take on the Jihad crazies and should high-tail it (and turning our responsibilities over to the gutless wonders at the U.N as a fig-leaf) out of Iraq.

The 9 or soon to be 10(?) democratic dwarves... They're a pathetic lot now aren't they?

Monday morning quaterbacks, naysayers, or is it soothsayers? Backbiting and bitching, they whine, and thats all they do. They bring nothing to the table, no new ideas, no suggestions, nothing...

A famous someone, once said the best of military plans, is subject to change and/or revision before the sound of the first shot fades...

The dumbocratic party, a party totally without leadership, or ideas, seeks to pee on all of the great successes of our military in the war on terrorism. Think about it, these naysayers, who offer nothing, other than the whine; well they insist on knowing the exact date of withdrawl; an accounting, to the penny, of how much it might cost, just so they might further their bitch... Do they really believe war can be conducted via a crystal ball?

Apparently so... Berift of anything else but the whine, they bring nothing constructive to the table. They make me sick... It is I who wishes to pee on them...

"We've adopted a new strategy for a new kind of war: We will not wait for known enemies to strike us again."

Thank you, President Bush!

I like how Sec. Rumsfeld phrased it the other day (and my apologies to him if the wording isn't exact):

"We can fight the terrorists where they live now, or fight them in America tomorrow."

they insist on knowing the exact date of withdrawl

If I remember right, the republicans asked for the same thing in our "peacekeeping" missions - don't get me wrong, I don't agree they should be asking that question. They should be asking, how can we help. "We will ask for an accounting after the fact" - but they (The dims) won't because it's not in their nature, and they just can't stand to see a Great President of the Troops rise out of such a seemingly simple man! (It helps when you have a good team)

We've lost a lot of men ( and some women) in Afghanistan and Iraq. But we've given as good ( and better) than we've got.

For too long (30+ years) Americans were slaughtered by Middle Easter terrorists without us putting up a fight.

The war started many years ago; it took us a long time to clue in.

Now we're on the offensive and it may take a generation to clean out the nests of hate-indoctrinated wannabe warriors.

We need to stay on course and stay focussed, while never forgetting to appreciate the sacrifice made by these soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines.

This week, it was announced that the number of troops killed in post-liberation Iraq surpassed the number killed during the period of major hostilities that ended on May 1. Some 138 American servicemen died in the Iraqi theater between March 19 and May 1; 140 have been killed since.

Brit Hume last evening on FoxNews showed the breakdown of those numbers: KIA and other, March 19 thru May 1 and after May 1. He then compared those numbers to California's death rate. Does anyone have a link to those numbers? ...rto

Sorry, even after the WTC comments, I tried to give her a pass. But if she qualified to take a 100,000 dollar a year job right out of college she

A.Better be tough enough to take some heat.

B. Be smart enough to know just who her parents are.

C. Do the right thing and denounce them.

As I continue to pray for our leaders, especially the president, and our country, I keep having the sense that a growing volume of Americans, no matter their political stripe, are beginning to feel an uncomfortable edginess in our current and temporary relative state of security under Bush's leadership. It feels as if there are many who never thought about such things before, who now realize that we owe this temporary calming of the storm specifically to the presence of George W. Bush and his wisdom to appoint real, hard-nose, no-nonsense crime fighters to protect us. And our Constitution shuts the door on this protection after Bush's second term, should he receive one.

Hence, the edginess. The awareness that the terrorists won't close up shop just because their chief rival exits the White House they tried to destroy. In fact, I expect they are hatching plans to hit even harder after Bush leaves office.

One thing I have learned as a voting American. America has not been able to trust her national defense to any democrat since FDR's administration. I hope we can produce an extremely viable Republican candidate to run against the dems in 2008. Some, probably many, of our lives will depend on it, and on his / her success in being elected.

three viable candidates include Jeb Bush, Condi Rice and Rudy Guiliani...Noting my screen name I will be quick to point out that Condi or Rudy has a problem on the abortion issue which could be fixed if they choose to.
