McClintock has called for a 9.5 percent cut in state spending, which conflicts with Schwarzenegger's oft-stated commitment to protect education funding from cuts. Does anyone know about education funding as it relates to the budget? I believe the level of education funding is mandated to be a percentage of whatever the state budget is. So if the overall state budget is cut, wouldn't the mandated level of funding for education also drop? That could be construed not as a cut in education spending rather than a reduction in the mandated funding. Anyone have thoughts or info on this?
I won't ask the other question about what results CA schools achieved with all the extra billions, cause they ain't pretty....

The Los Angeles Times did not get the poll results they wanted so they added 125 "special calls" to hispanic surnames in order to "balance" their poll. All it did is skew their poll so that they would get the results they wanted.
It sold a lot of newspapers!!!!!!!!!!!

But there is one constant for Arnold Schwarzenegger in all three polls. All three have the international film star in the low 20s. This is a fact that has to be acknowledged.

Give it up.
Cruz is way ahead.
LA Slimes or not, this is fact.
Republicans in CA lose over and over by just the type of skewed focus you are doing.

K-12 education and community college funding takes up 46% of the budget. I have argued on other threads that Arnold's refusal to touch it is proof that he is not a serious candidate--it means he would have to cut the remaining budget by one-fourth just to break even for next year, to say nothing of fixing the last two years' deficits. And that just ain't gonna happen.

Does anyone know about education funding as it relates to the budget? I read somewhere that 40% of the budget is mandated to education. Can anybody verify that? Sounds extremely high to me.
