Warren Buffet is no different than Bill Gates, the Rockefeller clan and any number of other terrifically successful (morals and ethics aside) people in this country who like to back "causes" that keep them rich (by limiting competition) and make them look good.

Truthfully, they sneer at freedom and trample the ideals that this country was founded on. That is, in my book, un-American.

I did not know that Mr. Buffet was a supporter of PP, but it comes as no great shock as so many of that social stratum seem to be. And you are correct that we shall know what Arnie's true colors are by the company he keeps. So far, he's looking too much like a Kennedy.

I think Buffet's only positives are that he knows how to make money, and he owns Dairy Queen. Other than that, I'd rather he crawled back into the liberal hole he came from.

I had a religious upbringing, so probably am fairly well versed in Christian principles, but I surely don't consider myself an expert. I'm not too religious anyway.

"Christ was merely saying that money can become a god in itself and that we all have an obligation to ease each others' burdens."

Yeah, that makes plenty of sense, it's true, IMO. The welfare state perpetuates poverty (and all the ills that go with it), thus providing an excuse for the continued taxation that people like Buffet call for. And the continued erosion of our freedoms that the Left also calls for.

If CA needs more $$$,

It just occured to me that if Warren has a $40 billion fortune, that's $4 billion more than we need to solve the Davis Deficit.

Turn over the money, Warren, no strings attached.

Saint Warren owns 38% of Berkshire Hataway which owns 100% of Kirby Vacuums. Read about this rotten company at these links.

Is abortion the main thrust of Planned Parenthood?

Yes.

There's nothing more vulgar than the richest man in the world giving his fortune for the killing of children. I think I know now why the press gives him a pass.

You may have hit the nail on the head. Of course, I get a sick feeling myself when I see pregnant women begging for quarters on the street.

But probably not quite as sick as the sight of party members dragging her off to an abortion clinic against her will.

In financial matters the guy knows his stuff. There's no other rational way to explain his continuous, long-term success.

His recommendations on ways to solve California's fiscal crisis are worth listening to. What are they? Does anyone know? He thinks Proposition 13 should be revisited - that propety taxes are too low. Well, what are the details of his proposal? How does he propose to change things for the better? I remember how proposition 13 was sold - it would prevent seniors from being tossed into the street and would allow middle-class and blue-collar workers to own and keep homes in much greater numbers. I also remember what the critics of the time said - that this was a smokescreen to hide the real beneficiaries; extremely rich land speculators and multiple home owners. What does Buffet have to say about this?

His criticisms of the Bush tax cuts followed the same lines as the critics of Prop. 13 - the principal beneficiaries were very wealthy individuals. I don't know whether he was right but does anyone seriously question his ability to analyze financial statements?

Criticism of his social positions are nothing but irrelevant, viscious smears - motivated by dislike of his financial recommendations. He's not been hired to give advice on social issues.

"The Oracle of Omaha may need a new crystal ball after Arnold Schwarzenegger on Friday rejected comments by his adviser Warren Buffett that California property taxes should be increased." -- Contra Costa Times

Maybe you missed these news a few days go. Too busy looking for the turnip trucks I guess.

The ultimate insider -- he makes money because he has access very few others get. That's why he rails against CEO's being obsessed with quarterly numbers. Such information enables even the common man to actually look up key company info. Info that Warren would prefer to keep under wraps until he maxxed out his investments.

And the relevance of that accomplishment to advising someone in how to run a government is . . . . ?

I mean, maybe you think the function of government is to take your money and invest it for you, but I don't.

There's nothing viscious about pointing out his support of Planned Parenthood. His contributions to the culture of death are documented. That's a problem for millions of Conservatives, because a man who can't protect a child won't have the spine--ultimately--to protect a balance sheet. It doesn't matter whether he was hired for his social positions or not. The fact is that he has a particularly evil attachment to what the world will someday see as an institution far worse than slavery. There's nothing irrelevant about that at all.

He is competent in making money. It does not follow that he is competent in politics.

Warren Buffet is very good at picking up undervalued stocks. Michael Jordon was a very good basketball player. Emeril is a very good chef. Tom Hanks is a good actor.

That's about what I think of Warren Buffet.

I read Buffet's autobiography. I remember thinking he was brilliant in business but a horrible human being that ignored and crushed his family and children.

I vote Anti-christ.
