Black tape covers the word ''Episcopal'' on the signs around St. Andrew's Church. The church also blacked out the word on the emblematic sign, ''The Episcopal Church welcomes you.''

That's my parish. Cool! We were on the local TV news Tuesday night. Now even the local (liberal) newspapaer has picked up on it.

Good for them.

"We have draped our signs in black and covered the word Episcopal as a symbolic way of disassociating ourselves from the actions of the General Convention of the Episcopal Church,"

Good for you and your congregation, Pastor Guill.

Several Anglican leaders from around the world have denounced the decisions and announced that they may separate from the Episcopal Church.

Not an especially insightful remark, in that those "leaders from around the world" (one presumes the African and Asian bishops who've been outspoken about this) lead something like 3/4 of the worldwide Anglican Communion -- 50-75 million to the Episcopal (ECUSA) church's... what is it down to now?... 2 million?

(On the other hand, ECUSA has the buck$...)

Beat me to it Nick. My wife told me about this at dinner tonight and I was gonna post it when we got home.

We live close to this church and actually drove by it on Woodmont tonight.

Good for them.

Good move! Although the situation is sad, it is wonderful to see a church stand firm. Unfortunately, I see this same thing occuring in the denomination I attend. It is only a matter of time.
