FReeper Report of Hillary: By First time FReeper Rowgan

Posted on 08/13/2003 11:49:55 AM PDT by Thomas Rowgan

Here is my report of the protest of Hillary at Auburn Hills.

I had stopped off at another Meijer's to pick up some posters and a maker to make my sign. Grabbed a bottle of water and some bubble gum to keep me busy.

As I made my approach, I could see a few news trucks at the back of the store. One with the anntenna up. Also see the line for the singing going back about 150 yards. Secuirty was kinda low key. Just a few cop cars and one black SUV in the back. I had expected to see more of a frenzey with this event. But I guess hillary didn't have the money for it.

I drove around looking for any other protesters there. But I saw none. Not one. So, I protested alone in the hot sun. One thing I learned, I need stronger arms. Holding that sign up gets exhausting.

Overall it was a quiet protest. Got a bunch of honks, one finger, one "whatever" and one "Go Hillary".

The only major happening was a school bus that drove into the parking lot with huge pictures of aborted babies on it. That was also the only other protest I saw. Other wise, most people didnt' know what was going on. All and all not a bad first protest, wouldn't you say?

The DC Chapter says that you only need one to Freep but 20 is lunch and drinks when we are done.

Congrats on your first FReep! There is another thread about Hillary's Lovely Legs' experience inside the store with Hillary! It's pretty funny.

It was rather brave of you to protest alone. Don't know that I could do that.

Congratulations, newbie. I'll be freeping the beast tonight. I feel her getting close. The evil is palpable.

What did your signs say?

Good to see another SE Gander here, but I didn't even know that the wench was going to be here. I must be out of touch with the non freep world. Had I know I would have loved to recruit some others and I would have loved to join you.

Way to go!

If you have access to a digital camera, it is advisable to carry one for your own protection, if nothing else.

Great job! Sorry you were alone. I didn't make it to the Denver one when she was here so I still feel pretty bad about not showing up. The Denver FReep only had two FReepers but several other protestors including a pro-life group like you had.

Had I know I would have loved to recruit some others and I would have loved to join you.

Please follow the below procedure and you can be notified for the next one.

I pinged the thread to all who had set Michigan as their locale.

All FReepers, please go to in this page (click here) and set your locale (state where you live).

By setting your state, you are more likely to get notice of local FReeps, meetings, and secret conspiracy planning sessions in advance.

(You must be logged in to set your state, but most people log in once and do NOT need to log in each time they go to FR.)

As it happens, you were NOT alone at this FReep.

You were just alone - OUTSIDE. :o)

Entering the belly of The BEAST. My day with Hillary
Posted on 08/13/2003 10:35 AM PDT by Hillary's Lovely Legs

Today was a very special day.

I had the supreme opportunity to meet Hillary Rottenbottom at Miejer's Thrifty Acres, in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

I arrived around 10:30 am, for her 11:00 am book signing. The parking lot was packed.

I went into the store and was confronted by a sea of overweight housewives in white T shirts and shorts. You would have thought that this was an e-ticket ride for DisneyWorld. Fanny packs abound.

The line wound around the perimeter of the store. Hundreds upon hundreds of clones. All so very excited. They were there to meet their Queen.

I knew I had a long wait, and I was thinking of ditching the scene, because I was in heels, and I didn't feel like standing there for 2 hours just to meet her hieniousness.

Suddenly a dear friend of mine who is the camerman for a news station saw me in line, and asked what in the world I was doing there. I told him that I was up to shenanigans, and he told me to come with him, and pulled me out of line. He took me up near the front and placed me in line. I was about 25 people back from the Throne Of Hillary.

As I was waiting, I just stood and listened to the lobotomized clones around me. They could barely contain their glee. " Hillary is so wonderful. She will be our greatest president"." She is the best wife and mother"........

And don't even get me started about the wimpy men that were in line. It was mostly women, but there were a couple of husbands, probably because their wives were too overwrought with emotion to drive themselves to the Thrifty Acres.

Suddenly, with a smidgen of fanfare, from the bowells of hell, appears Hillary!. I called an audible. I said " Oh lord, she has a soccer ball in there". Oops, I didn't know I said that out loud. Silly me...

Thanks. I did it.

Now, what did those signs say? (I am always up for a good laugh at the creativity of freepers!)

Nice work.

Takes guts to get out there the first time, especially alone. Sounds like you had more honks of approval than one fingered salutes.

You are now a FReeper.

Watch for the secret decoder ring in the mail:)
