Jesse Ventura Castigates Time Magazine For Editing Schwarzenegger Letter
The Toady Show/NBC & FR ^ | August 12, 2003 | Jesse Ventura

Posted on 08/12/2003 4:30:14 AM PDT by an amused spectator

I was monitoring The Toady Show this morning, and The Affable Katie Braun was interviewing Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura.

Ventura piped up with the information that Time Magazine had edited his op-ed letter (published August 10, 2003 - Jesse Has Advice For Arnie), leaving out the fact that Ventura was against the recall, thought it was a bad idea, and could see no reason for it.

Ventura opined that he couldn't understand why Time felt that it had to 'direct' the thrust of the letter, and got in a good swipe at the Censored Press.

I'm on my way back to bed, but I witnessed the first 60 seconds of Ventura's embarrassing appearance with Ms. Braun.

What an obnoxious, self-absorbed, pontificating blowhard! And a has-been to boot!

So Jesse's against the recall? Sounds like Limbaugh's right. They're targeting the recall now, instead of trying to shore up support for Davis. So nice of Ventura and Time to help.

Actually, Ventura was complaining that Time had edited out his anti-recall comments.

I know. I think Time did it on purpose to generate the stink.

[THIS ADDENDUM TO JESSE'S LETTER WAS FORGOTTEN IN THE NATIONAL PRESS - RELIABLE KNOWLEDGE OF VENTURA IS GENERALLY NOT KNOWN OUTSIDE OF MINNESOTA AND EVEN THEN, ONE MUST BE THOROUGHLY WEANED FROM THE MILK OF THE SOCIALIST TEAT. WITH THAT PROVISO, I SUBMIT THE FORGOTTEN POST SCRIPT...]

P.S. Oh yeah, Arnold, one or two more things I forgot...

1.) Be sure you get your music, MTV, and book deals upfront. The movie and television appearances can be a 50% now and 50% later thing.

2.) Copyright your new status when elected ASAP. I got 'Gov. Jesse' and all variations locked up before the vote count was finished. This leapfrogs into brand name legal rights for your action figures, comics and personal visage branded onto novelties.

3.) Talk like a tough guy at every opportunity. This allows you to quit fights you can't win and go stomping off in character. This also keeps the 'maverick' fantasy going for idiot voters that are sick of the status quo and some of the conservatives that desperately want action. You can stroke these blocs for your entire term and they'll always stupidly side with you.

4.) Let your homey Leftists do your daily work. Like having a gay butler, they'll do your laundry and iron your shorts because they like running things. Then you can go and hang out with the crew and smoke that cigar and have a brewski. Heck, in between fattening my wallet, I used to hang out with Clinton and smoke his soggy Havana stogies all the time.

5.) Make sure the legislation you really hammer home is what YOU care about personally. For ME, I campaigned on concealed carry reform but never did jack for anyone else once I got the power to issue a permit to myself in the first week in office. Too bad, chumps! Oh yeah, don't forget the stuff that pisses you off either. For me, it was lowering the cost of licensing my kid's Porsche and all of our jet-ski watercraft. I mean, you've only got so much time if you work 4 hours a day, and you gotta champion the stuff that's really important to your wallet.

6.) Piss and moan about the press all the time. The right wingers love it because they're reflexive about the liberal press, but avoid letting on that your problems with the press actually have more to do with being an ignorant, self-serving dork than any kind of ideological difference. I mean, heck, when I got into office I didn't even know how to spell ideological let alone know what it means so don't be put off by bad press since we both know that any kind of coverage is still coverage and only boosts your marketing potential. Anyways, the press ALWAYS looks like a group of *ssholes to anybody that can actually read.

Well, that's about it. Oh yeah, one more thing...

Whatever you do, don't let anyone from California ever give the dope on what you do. I just let the twerps in the national media paint me as a independent conservative (and you know that ain't true) and I've been living off the reputation ever since despite what the folks down on the farm in Minnesota know to be the facts. Just remember that P.T. Barnum had it right about suckers and most of them seem to have been born into conservative families.

I don't think Ah-nald is concerned with what Captain Freedom has to say. I doubt the voters of Kalifornia will care, either.

Your post #3 is precisely why Katie Braun had Jesse on her show.

Trying to link Arnold with the buffoon.

The American news media also chooses to lampoon former Governor Ventura when he was running for governor by only citing him as a former WWF wrestler and casually omitting the fact that Jesse Ventura was also a Navy SEAL in Vietnam. I wonder why?

Yes, and Ventura was a willing 'useful idiot.'

Ventura can't stand the idea of a real body-builder with a BRAIN wearing the title of CA Governor!

His appearance this morning on Ms. Braun's show should be be viewed as a rehersal. I look for ALL the Arnold-hating media shows to book Ventura for precisely the purpose you stated!

Aw shucks. Now just why did the mean old media keep that information about Jesse being a former Navy Seal from us. I guess I must have heard it from my next door neighbor.
