The Weimar Country Store carries a bit of everything, but cashier Debbie Shepley made sure the roadside stop off Interstate 80 was well-stocked this summer with something extra: petitions to recall Gov. Gray Davis.

"Filled seven of them, right here," said the 51-year-old woman, tapping the counter that also holds the lottery-ticket display. An American flag was draped behind her.

Debbie better be careful, she may find the Weimar Country Store is out of compliance or something...

In Orange County, petition signature collectors in front of stores always ask for people to sign. The Recall petition signature collector didn't ask anyone to sign, everyone was walking up to her and asking for a petition to sign. Definitely different.

Greetings, FRiends, from beautiful rural Auburn. Placer County has the HIGHEST per capita Republican registration in California.

This article makes me homesick. I lived in Lincoln for years, also Rocklin and Auburn. Graduated from Roseville High School (Go Tigers! Beat Oakmont!)

Wow...just had an Al Bundy moment. That was 20 years ago!

Jerry Moore says bluntly he believes the governor is "a crook."
"He's the type of guy who'll do anything for money."

Right on Jerry!!!

Check the tagline I've been flying for awhile....Proud to be a Riverside County resident, where we've got the dems slammed by close to 20 percent, year in and year out.

Still love the gold country.

Democrats' float getting booed at last year's Christmas parade in Lincoln

I would have paid good money to see that.

Er, Placerville is in El Dorado County.

I'm glad you enjoy rafting on the American River, unfortunately, many of the rafting companies are run by the craziest, NIMBY, democrats in the foothills. Former El Dorado County Supervisor Bill Center runs one, and you'll have a hard time finding a bigger scumbag.
