Davis will never resign.

More likely he's going to challenge Arnold to a debate.

Well this has been going on for just over an hour now.
Everybody still having fun? For those of you in other states, Davis is ALWAYS late for the microphone. May be a while before anything is said.

WHERE DID YOU SEE THAT THERE WAS GOING TO BE A PRESS CONFERENCE. I haven't seen anything on TV. Please don't say you made this up.

BTW, for all Californians, doesn't it make you go stark raving mad when the media lies that all of the gathered signatures are coming from hired signature gatherers?

We downloaded ours before Issa contributed - think it's time we start informing the press that it is truly a grass roots effort.

Just saw bust-a-move Cruz on the tube ... is his plan to balance the budget with his McD's lawsuit settlement?

The Dems need to answer with an actor of their own. Hope they pick Ted Danson or Ed Asner.

While I'm sitting here thinking about California, which I rarely think about-- (thanks for starting the thread, Dog!) here's my ROB/BLOG---

I am glad Arnold is running. He is not a perfect conservative but he is the best chance that we're going to get in California THIS RECALL ELECTION. Maybe Arnold can move enough people in California to the center closer to the GOP and a more conservative successor can be elected NEXT ELECTION.

If Arnold wins, and I think he will, he will be a powerful figure in California. My biggest concern is that he does not have the required experience to "fix" California. He will need a great team to turn the state around.

The other big positive that comes from Arnold winning if he does a good job:

It will put the PRK into play for Bush in 2004. Having to spend time and effort in CA in 2004 will drive the Dems crazy.

Does anyone know what is involved in the still-proceeding FEDERAL case involving the recall?

I seem to remember a San Diego federal judge ordering that the state must count a voter's choice on the successor portion of the recall ballot, even if the voter abstained (left blank) the initial should-Davis-be-yanked portion. State law says that only those who vote yes/no on the first question may vote on the second.

Point is, if THAT is the only remaining court case, then Davis is TOAST. (Thanks to Nancy Pelosi for that quote.)
