HIV High Among Homosexuals

Summary: MSNBC reported on July 28, 2003 that HIV among homosexual and bisexual males has risen for the third consecutive year here in the U.S.

Homosexuals and bisexual males are continuing to infect each other at increasing rates, according to an MSNBC report published on July 28, 2003.

The report cites Centers for Disease Control (CDC) statistics indicating that AIDS diagnoses had risen 2.2% percent to 42,136 last year. An estimated 850,000 to 950,000 Americans have AIDS and it killed 16,371 last year.

HIV infections surged 7.1% last year among men who have sex with men. Infections have risen 17.7% since 1999.

As with all stories about statistics, you want to read the article thoroughly. You might have missed this:

Jaffe cautioned, however, that the jump in HIV diagnoses could have been caused by increases in the number of gay and bisexual males being tested for the virus and was not proof that this group was being infected at a faster rate.

Unfortunately, the new drugs whcih are extending the lives of these perverts, are costing the american taxpayer, not them! It costs more than $150,000 a year for many of these guys to stay alive, so they can continue to infect others before it catches up to them...
Medicaid/medicare are the drug suppliers for most HIV patients, and we all know who pays for that...
add to that the cost of research of those drugs AT GOVERNMENT (read TAXPAYER) expense, and ...
maybe they should be forced to deal with their own self-inflicted malady, and save the massive expense to the national budget. That would pay for another tax cut, and get rid of a lot of perverts... Let God sort them out!
This is their choice, why should we pay for it. And yes, it is callous, and would affect others... but promiscuity is risky business, and YOU ASSUME THE RISK, when you choose to participate in the activity! Don't send us the bill!

Actually, the whole "gay cancer" thing was a misnomer. The first groups of AIDS carriers were getting Kaposi's Sarcoma. Most doctors didn't recognize it because the disease normally only occurs among the very elderly and was extremely rare (almost nonexistent) among the younger crowd.

Well, let's see. There are 300,000,000 people in this country. About 5% of them are gay, at absolute most. Five percent of three hundred million is 1.5 million. If 42,000 of them die of AIDS every year, there should be no more gays in 35 years. These boyz better wise up or they'll s***w themselves out of existence.
