Dear Friends:

Mr. Redhead has passed away. He left us yesterday afternoon after a valiant battle against small-cell primary lung cancer, which is so virulent and fast-spreading that we hardly had time to take in the fact that he was ill before he was in extremis. The cancer was so advanced that no treatment was possible, and he was much too sick to be able to recover enough to receive chemo.

I want to thank all of you faithful prayer warriors for you diligence in prayer on our behalf. I told him while he was still lucid that he had people all around the world praying for him, and he was very touched.

I turned on to write you and found your thread. I am so sorry.

It was just Sunday when you gave an update,it sounded pretty grim but,oh,never did I think it would be so fast.I posted the news on the two running threads, I hope you have them so you can see all of the many friends you and Joe have as well as the thoughts and prayers they had for you both.

People responded so quickly and with such concern. A wonderful tribute to you,and well deserved. You have given us so many memorable thoughts and insights and keen observations,particularly on the passing religious scene.

I know you have great faith that will get you through these times but it doesn't make the absence of one you love any less acute. I pray that Jesus and Mary stay especially close to you and your family these coming days and that the angels accompany Joe to Paradise and perpetual light shines upon him. God bless you Redhead.
