WASHINGTON -- California first lady Sharon Davis on Wednesday blasted the Republican effort to recall her husband, calling it a "hostile takeover of government" that is certain to fail if Democrats stick together by refusing to run a successor candidate.

Sharon Davis says the recall campaign won't push the governor to quit.

The former President disembarks from his airplane after a trip back to Arkansas. Although the hoopla is less now that he is out of office, Clinton still occasionally finds himself greeted by military personnel. This is one such occasion. He climbs down the stairs, carrying two huge pigs, one under each arm. He gets to the bottom, and nods his head in return to the soldier's salute. "Son, what do you think about these?" he says. "Nice pigs, SIR!" comes the reply. Clinton gets mildly miffed and lectures, "I'll have you know these aren't just pigs but the finest of Arkansas Razorbacks. Top notch. I got one for Hillary, and one for Chelsea. What do you think about that?" "Nice trade, SIR! |

"We really believe that when you break the law by importing people from out of state, who are not residents, who lie, immediately sign a petition saying they're residents, and (when they're) living in some hotel, they've just been there for 15 minutes -- that that is a breach of the law. ... This is a breach of the law -- a fraud, if you will, on the electorate."
CA is well versed in election fraud. Ask Bob Dornan.

There's a Mrs. Doofus?
I bet she would sign the recall petition if it could be kept anonymous.

There's a Mrs. Doofus? I've never even seen her before. I just figured he was gay.

"Davis was in Washington for a press conference with Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., promoting a mentoring program for children in foster homes."
There's an interesting coincidence. Louisiana is the state currently tied with California for dead last (the bottom of the barrel) in public school student performance. But ha ha Louisiana, Governor Doofus has momentum on his side. Our students are sinking so low so fast that your kids' heads are going to spin from the turbulence California causes in passing.

CA: Gray Davis' wife leaps to defend him And when I first read the title as I was scrolling through the posts, I saw "Gray Davis leaps out of a window." Wishful reading if ever there was.

I suppose this should be good authority that Gray Davis doesn't beat his wife. So we should excuse him from that possible lapse. But, and this is a big but, that does not conclusively prove, or even make much of a justification, that he is particularly competent to be governor of California.
Political hack is still political hack, whether they are in St. Petersburg of the former Soviet Union now known as the Russian Federation, or in Shanghai, China, or Hackensack, New Jersey. And political hacks are not wildly inspiring leaders.

If he's trotting out his wife, then the Davis admionistratio has just "jumped the shark"

I quickly scanned a small article in the San Diego U-T yesterday, talking about Leon Panetta being ready to step-in to either the race (should the recall REACH ITS GOAL) ---
I threw-away the paper, so I can't re-read what I merely scanned. Do you know anything about Panetta's intentions?

In an hourlong meeting with reporters, she said Gov. Gray Davis is not going to resign in the face of the recall effort, even if that is the surest way to keep the governor's seat in Democratic hands. Has Gray thrown you through a door today, Sharon?

Of course not Sharon - your husband's head is stuck in the clouds so he can't see how much Californians loathe him and can't wait to give him the boot. When that happens you'll be "surprised." Then liberals always are.
