If the U.N. is serious about going after illicit arms, I suggest they first disarm Kofi Annan's security detail. They were busted
here in the United States for possesion of
illegal assault weapons.
But then, it'd become all too apparent that the U.N. has but one intention: disarming every citizen and making them subjects.

The U.N. wouldn't show up at your door to collect your guns any more than they do when you violate some obscure environazi regulation that has its unconstitutional roots in a treaty that emanated from the U.N. - it will be your local police or state police or federal police that will be knocking on your door, they won't be wearing blue helmets, and you'll be just as dead when it's all over because they'll just be following orders.

Really, is there anything surprising about this? The United Nations is a union of
governments, two thirds of which rule nations that have been classified as
not free. Is there anything a tyrant fears more than an armed populace?

the UN has only one real interest, to be the world governemtn.
To do this, the UN needs taxing authority and one world currency. Just as the Euro has trapped the eu, the UN seeks to somehow "contain" the USA and the inconvenient notions of individual liberty and individual property rights.

"By any measure the United States is the most armed country in the world," the report said. "With roughly 83 to 96 guns per 100 people, the United States is approaching a statistical level of one gun per person." Less than one gun per person? I guess Americans will all have try harder and go out buy more guns. :)
