The time has come to take back the Supreme Court from activist Justices.
Judicial activism in the Supreme Court has gone unchecked. Instead of correcting the activist Court our elected representatives have, for the most part, bowed down to it.
Now it's time to turn the tide. 2004 is an important election year and you can bet that the makeup of the Supreme Court is going to be a big campaign issue.
It's going to be an issue not because the leftists are going to make it one but because we are.
I'm calling for a "Take Back the Court" rally in DC next year. I believe that working with grassroots organizations such as Free Republic, we can bring 500,000 to 1,000,000 people to the Capital. This will create the political momentum necessary to take back the Court. It will also send people back to their home States with a hunger to help get out the vote during the fall election.
The work necessary to organize such an effort will be tremendous -- too much for one organization. In the next few weeks I'll be contacting a few select leaders in the pro-family/pro-life movement with whom I've worked with in the past. From this leadership (as well as other organizations) a board will be formed to spearhead this effort.
I've registered the site www.takebackthecourt.com and will offically launch the site later this summer. Think of this post as a pre-launch. The reason I announce this effort before it gets underway is so that I can get a pulse of the the activists want to do.
So please help by answering these questions:
* What date should be chosen for the rally? The last calander day of the Supreme Court?
* What MAINLINE speakers should be invited? (While there are many good hearted people out there, we won't hand the media a club to beat us over the head with.)
* Should this take place in the spring or in the summer? Would families travel to DC in the summer?
* What grassroots organizations should be invited to organize and participate?
This rally is not meant to be a partisan rally. It's meant to bring together all Americans who understand that the Justices are choking the "living Constitution" to death through Judicial Activism.
Off the bat, it would be great if Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity were to speak at the rally. They could even host their radio show from the rally if they would like.
Please share your thoughts about this rally.

Off the bat it would be nice to know just how you are going to get the nominees inside this CORRUPTED "Two-Party Cartel". As Tom Jefferson says , the country every so often needs a revolution. It's time America put up or shut up.

I saw, I believe on FOX, that there's a movement started to impeach those judges who abused their power in the Texas privacy case. The issue was one to be controlled by the state, but the activist on the bench disobeyed the Constitution and over-rode the states rights.
Maybe it was on The O'Rielly Factor? I think it was. They would be happy to help you, I'm sure!

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to do more research on that group.

Thanks for your efforts; I'll try to be there.
I think we need a list of the issues the Surpreme Court went against the Constitution on....a way to inform people and get their support.

Ok, thanks for your effort to try and be there. But let me challenge you. If you are like the average person, you take a vacation once a year. Do you "try to be there" or do you make it a point to be there? ;-)

It might be good to hold the rally a day or 2 before or after the annual protest of the Roe v Wade rally, while all the pro-life people are in town. I'd like to attend both.

That was on Hanity and Colmes, and it was a representative from the Constitution Party.
The Constitution Party is the first national political party to denounce the recent Supreme Court ruling that refused to uphold a Texas law that imposed criminal penalties upon homosexual sodomy. In light of that, the Constitution Party has also called for Congress to draw up articles of impeachment against Justices Kennedy, O'Conner, Breyer, Souter, Ginsburg, and Stevens, the six justices that refused to uphold the Texas law.

Something we all should consider is the founding fathers did not escape tyranny to perpetutae another ... we were founded upon God AND religious liberty and defending it is our obligation --- liberals have made God and right and wrong a thought crime and
themselves our overlords - slaves ! Watch those senate confirmation hearings and if you publicly state your beliefs and sincerity you are vetted - crucified ... there is supposed to be no religious - ideological special interest test for office and now the supreme court has established them ... abortion - pornography - evolution - gun control - racial - sexual preferences especially !

I think your idea of a "Take Back the Court" grassroots organization is a great idea, but not the rally.
Before you hold a political rally you have to have a strong political base, otherwise only a few people show up and that's worse than no rally at all.
I checked out your website that's under construction, and that's a good place to begin building a political movement.
Changing government, especially a part of government that's as dug in and powerful as the SCOTUS, is not an easy job. You need committed people who are passionate and organized. There are people like that everywhere in this country, but they're scattered around. They need to be brought together where they can meet and exchange tactics. Your unfinished web site is a great place to do that.
Find people that want to change government just as you and I do, and begin to build an organization. After an organization is built is the time for rallys.
