Republicans Taking Away Prostate Treatment for Old Men (Dem rhetoric hits Rock-Bottom, part III)
Posted on 06/27/2003 4:37:50 PM PDT by ElkGroveDan
The California State Assembly is continuing debate on the State Budget.
I thought you should all know that according to Assemblyman Darrell Steinberg (D-Sacramento) by not wanting to increase taxes, Republicans are now taking away prostate treatment for old men.
Yes. He claims that without $8 billion in new taxes there will be no funding for prostate cancer, as well as other benefits to the blind, the elderly and the disabled. 7% cuts will do all this, mind you.

Sorrry, but I have to laugh a bit. The RATS have always used some kind of blackmail to bandy about if they don't get their way. Decades ago, the RATS in Congress told us with crocodile tears in their eyes how law enforcement would suffer if there wasn't an increase in taxes. In California, Sarah Reyes recently said there would be police officers and deputy sheriff's laid off if the Vehicle License Fee was not increased. But this one is truly imaginative.
Iffen y'all force us to reduce the budget by 7%, we're agonna make old men die of prostate cancer! LOL!

California 'rats just can't do enough to encourage rectal probing of some form or another, can they?

How about taking away school lunches for starving children, and school crossing guards so kids will die in the streets and...??? Oh, the inhumanity!

Of course, it's just not the same as the government providing the hearing aids at ten times the cost of someone buying a pair brand new without any discounts.

I called Bowen's office with a list of organizations who can provide hearing aids to people who need them - at NO COST! Just like presciption drugs, there are non-government programs to help them. If government restricted itself in the field of healthcare to just directing people to these private programs they could do it on 5% of what they spend now and people will be at least as well taken care of. It's all about power and money, that's it.
EGD - I shall look forward to future installments!

I'm waitng for when the DemonRATS claim Republican cuts
mean that many "poor and low income" people won't be
able to brush their teeth. And the ultimate claim:
"they won't be able to buy toilet paper."
BWAHHHHHHHHHHHH.

If old people want to live forever, they've got to do it on their own dime. If you want to be retired for fifty years, you had better have the money in your own bank account. The able-bodied should not be forced to support the old. Nobody should have the right to unlimited retirement.

For some reason when I read these posts, I hear the voice of Radar from the TV show M*A*S*H* saying "Attention Camp..." over the PA system. LOL
