Ultimately, it came down to not being partisan.
Flying in the face of the liberal bent that the public expects from Hollywopod movies, Reese Witherspoon nixed an appearance by New York Senator Hillary Clinton for the film 'Legally Blonde 2; because it would seem too partisan.
Screenwriter Kate Kondell says a cameo for the former first lady was written into the script where Witherspoon's Elle Woods character would look up to Delta Nu Sorority Sister Clinton.
We had the cameo planned, but it didn't happen, it wasn't shot,' Kondell says.
'It was a big concern for us that we didnt want the movie to appear partisan or anything like that, Witherspoon tells Zap2it.com

Guess Witherspoon's no dumb blonde. If Hilliary had been in the film, I wouldn't have gone to see it even if it does get good reviews.

She knew she couldn't make the letterbox.

Did anyone see "Sweet Home Alabama"? There was a scene where Reese was with her NY boyfriend and he said something like "Are you afraid your parents wont like me because I'm a Yankee?" and she replied "Not because your a Yankee, more because your a democrat.."
Very funny.

One ponders, was it really the political thang or was Reese worried Hillary would be too close in character to the lead (netharious) attorney in the first film? Can't you just see Hillary's hand on Elle's knee now? Ewwwwwwww...

The better line in the movie, is when his mother a democrat mayor is putting down poor Southern folks to her son who of course is in love with Reese's character.
He replies, "Mother were democrats, we are supposed to care about the poor." Or words to that effect.

I remember that as well...there were a few surprising (non-pc) lines in that movie...I have to say that Dems were NOT portrayed well at all as Candice Bergman played the NY City Mayor and a totall B#tch! All of the Southern characters came off as normal and nice.

"I can't wait to read the book, and I do hope that there will be a female president in our lifetime," Witherspoon says with a wink. "I think Hillary is a great possibility." Unfortunately, Witherspoon contributes both her time and money to the gun-grabbing Million Mom March and the socialist Children's Defense Fund --headed by Hitlery pal Marion Wright Edelman.
Reese and Mattell even created an Elle Woods barbie doll to help raise money for the CDF.
But, lawdy, she sure is HOT!!!!

So who wrote Hilliary into the script? Whose idea was it? Who approached whom? Inquiring minds want to know. And does this mean we're going to see more (attempted?) Hilliary product placements in the coming months as her handlers try to make her more voter friendly?

If Hilliary had been in the film, I wouldn't have gone to see it even if it does get good reviews. Reese just didn't want more controversy. The central story had to be changed, originally she is fighting animal research, period, which includes medical. They changed it to make-up.
Even though the character is now fighting animal testing for make-up companies, there is a chance the movie's dialouge may offend people who have had cancer and other diseases. Since it uses crux arguements straight out of PETA, of which Reece Witherspoon is a member.

Did you see the part where Candice Bergen said something like "Im a democrat, poor people vote for me".
