You do realize that in order to accuse the President of pandering for the Hispanic vote, you must establish that Mr. Acosta is not qualified for the position or, at minimum, other more qualified candidates were passed-over in favor of him.I thought that's what we had the Democrats for.

That's what really ticks me off. My loyal opposition on this thread would prevent me from considering a candidate simply because he is of Hispanic descent. I would wager that this candidate is more "American" than the lot of them.

"Diversity" seems to be a nasty word around here today. Sad.

LOL. I have never seen more Constitutional scholars with views on a Supreme Court opinion issued moments ago in my life (and that includes Bush v. Gore).

Yep. Apparently all the "armchairs" turned in their military hats for judicial robes just this morning!

"You do realize that in order to accuse the President of pandering for the Hispanic vote, you must establish that Mr. Acosta is not qualified for the position" No, I don't have to prove anything about Mr. Acosta to prove that the President is pandering to the Mexican vote.
We have hundreds of thousands of Mexican illegals in this country which proves that point quite well.
You obviously don't live in a border state, or you've got selective blindness.
This has nothing to do with Mr. Acosta, per se, except that he is just one more step taken to gain the Mexican vote.
To: TexasCowboy
My state-of-residence, and your opinion concerning illegal immigration, has nothing to do with Mr. Acosta's qualifications for this position.

"Apparently all the "armchairs" turned in their military hats for judicial robes" Howlin, you know I supported GW in the war effort against all odds.
I still think we were right to go in, and I'll argue that point with anyone.
What I can't tolerate is GW's complete disregard for the mass immigration that is threatening our way of life.
He has done nothing to stop it or even slow it down.
The Mexican illegals in Texas are killing our economy, and when they turn Texas into Mexico they'll move north.
To: TexasCowboy
Again, out of curiousity. For how many years should we ban citizens of Hispanic descent from holding public office?

I said NOTHING about Mr. Acosta's qualifications.
You're the one who's harping on his qualifications.
I said that this is one more appeasement to the Mexican community to garner votes.
Just answer me one question:
IF GW is not pandering to the Mexican community then why do we have hundreds of thousands of illegals in our border states living off our welfare system?
To: TexasCowboy
I was not referring to you in my remarks. I'm talking about the ones who didn't even read the decisions before they started bashing Bush, as they do on every single issue.
They are NOT Bush supporters.
And you and I will hit the streets about the immigration if and when it comes; I've already left MANY an email on the White House server about it.

"For how many years should we ban citizens of Hispanic descent from holding public office?" Again, I said nothing about banning CITIZENS from holding public office no matter where they came from.

"And you and I will hit the streets about the immigration if and when it comes; I've already left MANY an email on the White House server about it." Thank you, Howlin.
You know I'll be there shoulder to shoulder with you.

Just so you'll know, North Carolina has the fastest growing Hispanic population in the country.

There was another lady posted that same thing last night.
I didn't know it was that wide spread.
I see it in South Texas on a daily basis, and it scares the hell out of me.
We are being inundated, and no one in our government seems to notice or care; in fact, they're encouraging it.
To: Howlin
Just so you'll know, North Carolina has the fastest growing Hispanic population in the country. Well you should be very happy with this development considering your positive feelings about "Diversity".
