It's the top of the fourth on a chilly night in the Bronx and New York Yankees fan Frank Larocca is examining his All-Star ballot.

For the American League, he's going for the cream of the crop -- Derek Jeter, Alfonso Soriano and even a few top guys who don't wear pinstripes. But when it comes to the National League, his picks are a little eccentric.

Fan voting has become ridiculous. Cal Ripken didn't deserve to be an All-Star post '94, but was elected every single year.

All star voting should be given back to the players. That would make it less of a popularity contest and the honor would of being recognized ny your peers would mean more.
