They say that when it's found, they'll have legal jurisdiction to seize the vehicle. Baloney.

Yeah, right. I think Geragos and his cronies have been watching too many Perry Mason re-runs where Perry finds the REAL killers at the end of every trial. Geragos is too much of a grandstanding flim-flam man--his claims remind me of a barker at a carnival--"Come right in! See the REAL killers of Laci and Connor! Satanic Cult revealed here!" I wish some judge could put a gag order on Geragos. He makes me just disgusted.

Innocent until proven guilty.
(but he looks sooooo guilty)

And Geragos is still trying to find the missing store receipts from Wynona Ryder's shoplifiting case. Believe it when you see it.

Scott Peterson's defense team says they have found the mystery woman who can provide information about the real killers of the California murder suspect's 8-months-pregnant wife, Laci, and their unborn child.

I am really trying to keep an open mind about Scott being innocent...but it just looks so
bad for him. If I had to write a Perry Mason movie myself I couldn't think of a much guiltier-looking scenario. We'll just see what both sides have in the way of hard evidence. The only things I am convinced of is that Laci did
not die of suicide...and that Scott is a bastard.
But it is entirely possible that he was only a cheating, insensitive bastard that does his wife's hair with pliers and fishes alone on Christmas eve while his lonely pregnant wife is being murdered by psycho warlocks, then sells her truck, dyes his hair and boogies for Mexico with a passport and a wad of bills...

I've refrained from commenting on this case on Free Republic, since I don't think the whole issue is worth the waste of bandwith. The media has siezed on what is really a tragedy for the individuals involved and turned it into a national soap opera. If the American public spent one-tenth as much time figuring out important issues as it does watching this case which has no national significance whatsoever, we'd be a better place.
That said, I've bet my wife 50 cents (a big bet for me) that the husband will be found not guilty. The state has a very significant burden, and (assuming the Modesto police and the Stanislaus DA have leaked all the evidence they have) not enough evidence to convict. It's possible that the defense is about to drop a bombshell, but even if they don't it's guaranteed that the investigation is a mess and the evidence likely not enough to convict. The police always foul it up, and I doubt the Stanislaus DA has even one 1st degree murder conviction under his belt, much less capital murder.
Flame away, as I'm apparently an Army of One on this issue.

Well ... Even if they have FOUND a woman they think has testimony which will point to another person (or a satanic cult group) ... what's to say her testimony is credible ...?? What's to say the people she's pointing her finger at can even be found ... What's to say the police can find ANY EVIDENCE to support this woman's story.
I think this is just a ruse. These are some of the people who called the Peterson family (on their private hotline), that the Petersons have been saying prove Scott is innocent.
I guess we'll see!

I just have to add this comment about the satanic cult theory. I have wondered if the "woman" they're hoping can lead them to the killer is a drug addict. A lot of times these cults support themselves by selling drugs.
If the cult theory is true, they would have TAKEN the baby by killing Laci. They didn't. From all the stuff I have ever read about cults, they don't seem to KILL WITHOUT PURPOSE. I'm not saying they can't, but that they usually don't.
The purpose can be for organs or other reasons. But ... to leave a viable "organ", the fetal tissue - including the umbilical cord, is what makes me suspect NO CULT WAS INVOLVED.
And ... why would a cult from the Modesto area drive 90 miles and dump the body in the bay ...?? Very curious!

Rosa Lopez walking a dog again in Laci's neighborhood just in time to see the Satanists show up? Or did Kato move to new free digs and just happen to witness the devil worshipers murder Laci?
Film at 11!
