Byrd just said he is going home and going to bed. This is why a 24/7 filibuster won't work. Anyone can just go home and go to bed.

I think everyone would have liked a higher number...but we need to look at the big picture. Any tax relief...especially the accelerated rate reductions across the board is a great thing for America. It reduces the punishment for work...The dividend tax reductions will reduce the punishment for investments...We also got accelerated marriage penalty relief and a doubled child tax credit I believe. These are things that will put money in the pockets of every American...and that is ALWAYS a good thing.

With this package, added on to the package of 2001, over the next few years, we will be getting MORE than Bush campaigned for in 2000. It's a win for us any way you look at it.

I've been out since 5:00 pm CST. So I've missed much of this.

Can anyone tell me: Did McCain speak against it? I know he voted against the bill, but I'm interested to know if he spoke.

Wasn't it just five years ago that McCain was a good conservative Republican? The guy has become a psychotic mess and it is sad to witness. I have a feeling that his POW experiewnce may have something to do with his present mental state. If he has any real friends, I hope they will level with him and tell him the difficult truth that he needs to get professional help NOW.

My prayers are with the man - - I just hope he isn't able to do any damage with his vote as a Senator.

Maybe it's a gift, but for some reason I can always pick Barbara Mikulski out of the crowd in those wide chamber shots.

The RATS want to go home, I say keep them up all night with ten minute votes on ammendments, lengthly debates and promises of many more late night sessions until they start playing nice

P.O.W. standing for Prisoner of W., of course. :-)

The 2000 primary has rendered McCain a basket case forevermore.

Ease up on poor ol' Al. He didn't invent AIDS. He just took the initiative in creating H.I.V.

So Feinstein's AIDS bill has been defeated. What are they doing now?

They want drug companies to sell drugs at reduced prices only to Africa?

Will taxpayers pay for the difference or does it come out of the pockets of the shareholders of the company?
