Time: 12:30 PM Event Type: NPC Luncheon
Event Name: Ramsey Clark
Sponsored by: NPC Event Location: Ballroom
Details: Washington, April 30-- U.S. Militarism Threatens the Destiny of Humanity is the title of an address by former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark which is scheduled to be delivered to a National Press Club luncheon on Monday May 12.
Mr. Clark, Attorney General in the administration of Viet Nam War President Lyndon Johnson, is expected to argue that U.S. threats and use of devastating force against Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries has created unprecedented fear and hostility towards the U.S.
Now a steadfast opponent and outspoken leader against the use of U.S. military force, Mr. Clark charges that despite the popularity of President George W. Bushs leadership, the President has committed the highest crimes against peace--wars of aggression--as defined in the Nuremberg Charter. He makes the case that the American people should therefore exercise their Constitutional power by impeaching the chief executive.
Mr. Clark is founding chairman of the International Action Center in New York, which organized several anti-war protest demonstrations in Washington during the last 12 months. Those demonstrations attracted hundreds of thousands of protestors. He also made several controversial trips to Iraq, and helped arrange deposed President Saddam Husseins face-to-face interview with CBS News anchor Dan Rather earlier this year.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
I just found out about this Saturday night. I've contacted as many DC Chapter FReepers as I could to try to set up a FReep of Ramsey Clark.
The event is at a bad time. I probably won't go unless there is at least one other FReeper attending.
Please FReep mail me or post your intention to go if you are planning to attend.
He shouldn't have used a cut-rate embalmer.
Please let BillF know if you can make it to the National Press Club to FReep traitor (and Slobodan Milosevic's defense attorney) Ramsey Clark on Monday, May 12.
IIRC, the National Press Club is located on 14th Street - between E and F Streets.
Ramsey Clark is a man (I'm using that term very loosely here) in dire need of a DC Chapter-style FReeping. I am trapped at work unfortunately, and am counting on some of you die-hards to give Ramsey Clark a good FReeping. I hope some of you can make it.
Above map & link to detailed driving and subway directions for those who wish to attend.
Metro Center is the closed subway stop.
Don't be mean.
Couldn't we hope for him to spend his last days in a gulag in North Korea or Cuba?
Maybe one of many anti-American murderous tyrants that he loves so much would turn against him when next he visits. If only.
NPC neglects to tell 'we the people' that IAC is an anti-capitalist, anti-American (Communist) organization. NPC doesn't mind that Clark not only appeased Saddam Hussein, but made a living off of blaming the US for Saddam's atrocities. Those organized "peace" marchers were organized around pure BS from the mouth of a master oppressor who used the media to enslave and control his people - Saddam Hussein. NPC finds Clark's Baghdad Bob act worthy of praise? This is the standard set by today's "professional journalists"? What Ramsey Clark does for a living was once known as treason, slander, bearing false witness - a frontpage scandal for a former US AG under a Democratic President.
Who are these people - the NPC - that they'd support anyone who praised Hussein and damned US? Who elected them and who holds them accountable?
The world is upside down. The VLWC isn't even acting honorable anymore. Sore losers doesn't cut it. This is the Wellstone funeral crowd, stripped of their costumes and parading their hatred for President Bush and America in the broad daylight.
Members of NPC and Ramsey Clark should be given mass-grave digging duty in Iraq...with the families of those murdered by Saddam Hussein's regime standing guard.
Thank you for standing up for civilization and against this person.
