Shep Smith to buy Marine Reservists steak diner

Watching the best part of Fox News (10:00pm - 12:00am CT)where Shepard Smith and Rick Levanthal talk to each other like it's guys night out.

Right at the end of the show, Levanthal was talking with a group of Marine Reservists (I believe the 23rd Marines) and the guys said the thing they miss most is food - particularly "steak."

Levanthal agreed and Smith said that when he got back he'd buy him a steak dinner. So Levanthal turns to the Marines and said, "Shepard Smith said he'd buy you all a steak dinner when you get back!" They cheered, but Smith said "Well I meant just you, but hey why not." (Paraphrasing.)

I'm going to e-mail Shep and tell him that I will pitch-in for the steak dinners for those Marines, if he will make sure they get it.

Anyone else interested?

It was Hannity who offered to buy a steak dinner for all the reporters in the field, but Levanthal misinterpreted it as SHEP buying steak dinners for all the troops.

They discussed it extensively during the report, and Levanthal and Smith started laughing that they just cost Hannity thousands of dollars for steak dinners.

If I kept it on my Tivo, I would post the transcript. It was pretty funny. But it is Hannity who offered the dinners, Smith was just telling Levanthal that Hannity would buy dinner for the field reporters when they returned.

What? You think a nice camelburgher wouldn't be just as good as some corn fed Nebraska beef, t-bone or sirloin cut? :) I would agree, although having grown up on Nebraska beef raised and fed on my uncle's farm, (and Lord how I miss it) so I guess I'm a little biased. :) Plus we had eggs and fryer chickens that we bought from my grandma.Grandma had "free range chikens" way before that became cool.
