[history]
Several thousand demonstrators marched to downtown Oakland on Saturday in the East Bay's largest anti-war rally, as organizers sought to attract a more diverse and younger crowd.
Though similar in spirit to the much larger rallies in San Francisco, the Oakland demonstration was aimed at attracting youths and more people of color into a movement that has been perceived by some as mostly white.

>Benitez said she believes that minorities, particularly blacks, are disproportionately represented on the front lines in Iraq.
Still spouting that lie.

All I had to see was that several thousand demonstrators marched to downtown Oakland, CA. I didn't need to read anymore after that.

This might bother me more if these nitwits hadn't already lost. Let's just take a little time to kick back and enjoy their pain.

``For this movement to succeed, we need everybody,'' she said while handing out fliers....
"But at this point, we'll take anybody..."

"queers for palestine" ... hahahahahahahaha

``It hurts us,'' said Benitez, who wore red to symbolize unity with other protesters and as a symbol of ``Third World Resistance.''
Red equals commie.

With a mainstream base like that, how can they lose?

``Queers for Palestine,'' I like "Perverts for Palestine", has a better ring to it.

One common feature of all of these rallies is the age groups. People are either 45 and older former hippies, or 21 and younger, rebelling against authority and unable to locate Iraq on a map.

. . . the Oakland demonstration was aimed at attracting youths and more people of color. . . . organizers invited groups representing young people of color. . . . protest leaders were seeking out people of color. . . . "Five reasons people of color should oppose the war." . . . "People of color in this country are being affected by this war". . . . people of color are again disproportionately affected. . . . The only people of color I care about:
RED WHITE and BLUE

I wonder if it bothers them nobody has started a group called "Palestinians for Queers." In the Middle East, anyone who did start a group like that would be shot very quickly.

These people are not only sick perverts, but disgusting traitors. I hope they're on the front lines when CA falls into the sea. :)

A big reason that these protests are not drawing, and will not draw, anything close to the numbers of the Vietnam protests (besides the obvious fact that Vietnam was long and drawn out and had many more casualties):
No draft this time.

``Koreans Against War in Iraq'' marched alongside the ``Alliance of South Asians Taking Action,'' which marched alongside a Filipino group. Labor unions marched next to ``Geographers for Peace and Justice'' and ``Queers for Palestine,'' nearby ``Schools not Jails.'' Where were the Sodomites for Saddam?
