USA should be brought before the International Criminal Court - German Weasle Alert!
Spiegel Online ^ | April 7, 2003 | Spiegel Online (Translated)

From the original (in German)

The [Christian Social] Union conservative [Peter] Gauweiler attacks the USA: The International Criminal Court should concern itself with the Americans [and] require them to pay for damages in the Iraq war.
SNIP
" The state which is responsible for a wrong against Human Rights, must, as much as possible, make good on those wrongs." wrote Peter Gauweiler on Monday in Bild Zeitung .

The Christian Social Union (CSU) is one of our so-called "friends" in the German Government. This shows once again that the Germans are bound and determined to undermine the efforts of the coalition.

Even Angela Merkel, head of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) who has, til now, more or less supported the US Position, has now "warned" the US against future "go-it alone" actions.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I've just about had it with the Germans. Last week Helmut Kohl, this week Angela Merkel (Gauweiler has ALWAYS been like this!).

The Germans supplied the WMD to the Iraqis with the Russians.

It is they who belong on trial, now.

Here is a message for them......we do not recognize the jurisdiction of the so-called International Criminal Court. Secondly, the US Congress has authorized military action against the so-called court if it attempts to exert jurisdiction over a citizen of the United States.

Can someone point me to the time and place where this weasel made a similar statement about Saddam Insane?
If not why not?

A related question: why hasn't this doofus been committed?
Doesn't Germany have insane asylums?

I actually agree with this statement by Herr Gauweiler. Of course, I believe that it is the countries that violated International Law, multiple non-proliferation and bilateral treaties and 17 UN resolutions to arm Saddam with WMD who must be made to pay. Further I believe that the individuals in those countries directly responsible for those policies should be tried for personal liability in the genocidal plans they helped foster.

I Think Jacque and his National Socialist pals best look to their own guilt.

" The state which is responsible for a wrong against Human Rights..."

So Iraq, which tortured and killed it's own people, are the good guys along with France and Germany (not to mention Russia and China)? Give me a break.

Pay damages? Does he mean we should reimburse the Germans for their lost weapons contracts with Iraq??

Most likely - since they also insist that Isreal repay the EU for money "lost" in the PLO controlled areas...

The United States is freeing the Iraqi people from a brutal dictator who violated their human and civil rights at every turn. Millions of Iraqis were tortured, maimed amd killed by Hussein. It is those who traded with Hussein and tried to use the U. N. and "world" opinion to shield him who have committed crimes against the Iraqi people. It is the leaders of France, Germany, Russia, China, Belgium, Canada and various and sundry other nations who should stand trial.

I would rather enjoy watching live TV of US Special Forces liberating any US citizen they attempt to try there.

Yes, but according to the Euro-Socialists, because THEY don't agree (this time), we are wrong. When they don't agree with the internal politics of a sovereign nation and want to "pre-empt" [Kosovo], thats "humanitarian" - when we attempt to carry-out the will of the UN, protect ourselves & free the world/Iraqi people of a dictator with WMD's, ties to terrorists, proven genocidal actons (and more) and act pre-emptive - we are war mongers and should be tried as war criminals..

As the end of this war comes and Saddam is fully exposed (as if he wasn't already) these people are only going to find themselves on the wrong side of history again...

Payback's going to be a bitch...

You paint a picture of petulant little children who don't get their way and so take their bats and balls and go home. But, again, while the continental Europeans are quite bats, post WW2 events have established that they lack balls. So, i'll have to find another analogy.

You know Hitler is jumping for joy right now in hell watching the Germans

We can only hope that this is so, but, the media in the US as well as in the Socialist Workers Paradise (Euroland) will not let the truth be known.

I've been boycotting German products for over a month now. Everyone should do the same. Hurt them like we are hurting the frogs.
