Sen. Hillary Clinton and other elected Democrats in the New York tri-state area have been conspicuously absent from recent rallies held to support U.S. armed forces currently fighting in Iraq, says a New York City talk show host who has attended and helped promote many of the events.
"We have promoted dozens and dozens of rallies," WABC Radio's Curtis Sliwa told his colleague Steve Malzberg Sunday morning. "How come we don't see any being sponsored by elected Democratic officials?... How come we never see any elected Democrats at these support the troops rallies?"
Sliwa noted that for the second weekend in a row, two local Republicans, Rep. Vito Fossella and State Sen. Marty Golden, were hosting pro-troop rallies in their communities.
But he complained, "How come we haven't seen Hillary Rodham Clinton or 'Chuckie Cheese' Schumer or Frank Lautenberg or [Jon] Corzine or [Joe] Lieberman or [Chris] Dodd there in Connecticut?"
While many elected Democrats claim to support the troops even as they second-guess their commander-in-chief, they've been mostly missing from public displays backing America's men and women in uniform as they march into harm's way.
Sliwa said he'll be monitoring pro-troop rallies in the tri-state area for the next three weeks and pledged that if none of the region's six Democratic Senators show up, he'll stage a separate rally where they'd be the lone invited speakers.

There was a nice pro-USA rally yesterday practically right in the backyard of idiot congresscritter Carolyn McCarthy, but she was not there. We didn't see any 'rats there, in fact.

Thanks for the ping.
I know they weren't at Bethpage yesterday.
There was no stink in the air.
Who needs 'em anyhow?

Hillary's too busy being important to stoop to anything so pedestrian as supporting our troops.
To: kattracks
Oh, she is just busy writing her book.
