If there are "rumbles of artillery fire" and most of our field stuff (unless rocket propelled) is in the 10-15 mile range, someone is very close. Doesn't say who. Hmmm.

Hindiyah is still 50 miles from downtown B-town.

Correction. That would be 50 klicks. That would place us within thirty miles of Baghdad.

At least, that's what I've read on the other threads. I haven't consulted a map, lately, but we are literally knocking on the damn door.

Our guys are doing a wonderful job. They're doing stuff that the Iraqis didn't expect: going into urban combat and fighting it out with the Fedayeen and the Al Quds. Further, they adjusted their tactics after last weekend: they started hunting Fedayeen out in the boonies. Small hunter-killer teams have made their presence felt.

Gentlemen, we have arrived at the Turn of the Tide...

Yep, now that you mention it, they are more accurate, and Debka doesn't have the extreme leftist viewpoint that the NY times propagates. Debka, however has made some serious mistakes.

I just found out something very interesting. I asked our resident Arab specialist which section of Baghdad, if any, would be the least loyal to Saddam. He said "Saddam City." I said, "let me guess: this is on the north, right?" yes.

I will not be surprised if the II MAE suddenly materializes out of the desert at precisely the zone in which the least Saddam support lies.
