NEW YORK (AP) -- A Columbia University professor told an anti-war gathering that he would like to see "a million Mogadishus" -- referring to the 1993 ambush in Somalia that killed 18 American servicemen.

At Wednesday night's "teach-in" on the Columbia campus, Nicholas De Genova also called for the defeat of U.S. forces in Iraq and said, "The only true heroes are those who find ways that help defeat the U.S. military." And he asserted that Americans who call themselves "patriots" are white supremacists.

What is with calling our Military ..white supremacist? You do not sound smart enough to be teaching at any University in this Countryor even one in Mogadishus. I freeped! As an educator for 32 years, I took him to task about the responsibilty of the educator. The young mind is too idealistic and vulnerable to hear such rubbish. An educator has no right to speak as he did in public, in the classroom or anywhere else in a public venue. Obviously this person has another agenda. He leans so far left that the scale is tilted. He deserves to have his little knuckles rapped by the university and other appalled Americans. I'd like to see him "removed" from the staff.

I believe Foner is a Communist. He admits he was raised in a "Communist-oriented" family.
