Captured Iraqi soldiers have told British military interrogators that members of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida terror network are fighting alongside Saddam Hussein's forces against U.S. and British troops near Basra.

Specifically, the Iraqi POWs claim that about a dozen al-Qaida members are in the town of Az Zubayr, coordinating grenade and other attacks on coalition positions, according to a Scotsman report carried in several papers, including London's Financial Times.

I doubt this surprises any thinking person. Saddam has made no secret of the fact that he supports terrorism. Since 9/11, he has avoided using the name 'Al Queda,' but so what? All terrorist organizations are cut from the same cloth. When you help one, you help them all.

We had hints of al Qaeda tactics in that area for days.

1. The fierce fighting and al Qaeda tactics like involving innocent Iraqis to shield them. This was an area basically without Republican Guards and supposedly transcripts making up the Iraqi military presence. Transcripts don't fight that well and that hard.

2. Rummy for two days before this broke was talking about terrorists tactics and activities.

3. The way the Royal Marines and our Marines were handling this area was far different than other areas where the Iraqis welcomed us and helped tear down Saddam signs and lead the way to Iraqi military hidden in their midst.

4. When those 3,000 WMD suits were found in that hospital, that made the hairs on the back of my neck go up. Why were 3,000 WMD suits there in hospital hundreds of miles away from Baghdad. Answer, they were probably for al Qaeda killer thugs to use when they used WMD against the Royal and US Marines in al Qaeda terrorist attacks.

5. The fact that the Brit Marines had to destroy that hospital to prevent further use by terrorists. We had to do that to many buildings in Afghanistan where al Qaeda killer thugs were hidden in the population.

This story may not pan out. If it is true, the left wing maggots in America will just walk away. Remember after 9/11 and GW correctly blame al Qaeda and OBL? The left wing maggots in congress and the media laughed at him and said no way. Then when the tape was released with OBl and his to al Queerdo goat humpers have dinner, laughing and bragging about planning and insuring that 9/11 happened. The left wing maggots just walked away, and most Americans forgot their denials. That will happen here, but it will not work.
