LOS ANGELES -- A day after signing a students' petition labeling the war in Iraq "unjust," Mayor James Hahn backtracked and said he doesn't believe the conflict is unjust after all.
"Yesterday I signed a petition prepared and presented to me by sixth graders at Florence Nightingale Middle School," Hahn said in a statement Tuesday. "I regret that I did not read it word for word before I signed.
"I do not agree that this is an 'unjust' war. This is the time to support our troops and pray for their swift and safe return."
Area veterans had criticized the mayor for signing the petition.
The petition was circulated by a sixth-grade class and signed by 700 people. Hahn was asked to sign by one student just moments after the mayor praised the children for speaking their minds.
"The war is unjust," the petition said. "Many innocent people of Iraq as well as American lives will be lost."
In February, Hahn signed a City Council resolution opposing a war without United Nations backing. He had not previously gone so far as to call the war unjust.

This is typical of what passes for education in the marxist madrasas of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Jimmy(mealy-mouth) Hahn needs to figure out where he stands -- (he's a fool who only won the mayoral election because his father had been a Black-friendly councilman for eons and because many voters didn't want a Mexican mayor elected. Usually not in agreement, certain segments of the voting population came together, i.e., Blacks and (mostly San Fernando Valley) conservatives came together to defeat Villaraigosa. I am certain he's a one-termer.

Another left wing Fedayeen Soddomite POS gets outed.
In the old days, these anti American maggots could say, sign or do anything. Then the left wing media hid the story.
Welcome to the reality after 9/11, Mayor James Hahn, you are another weak link who is becoming as useful as the UN and Michael Moore are.

He got duped by sixth graders. In his defense, Hahn claimed "yeah, they were six graders, but they were very wily sixth graders. Some of these kids could easily be seventh graders."

What in hell are they doing indoctrinating sixth graders with anti-american propaganda? Mr. Hahn, had he a brain, would be admonishing the school district for depriving students of an education. That he actually took their little marxist exercise seriously enough to sign shows a serious lack of gray matter.

The LA Unified School District is somewhere to the left of Kim Jong Il. The kids can't read or write, but they can "sign" commie petitions against their own country.
Jelly is like granite compared to whatever substance makes up Mayor Jimmy Hahn's spine (not to mention the contents of his skull cave).

He knew damn well what it said. What he didn't know (being an out of touch liberal moron) was the backlash his signature would cause.
