I checked to see if anyone else had posted anything about this. Seeing nothing I jumped into the breach.

I spotted this guy's book at Barnes and Noble last week on the "New Releases" table. Then I saw it there again yesterday. It looked like the same pile, like nobody had disturbed it.
Anyways, I picked it up and perused it and got bored pretty quickly. Nothing but straw-man arguments and flawed circular "logic". The book is garbage, and a very weak response to the well-documented, impeccable arguments made by the much more gifted writers Bernard Goldberg and Ann Coulter.
This guy Alterman comes from the same liberal germ culture as Joe Conason, Eleanor Clift and Molly Ivins, etc. He's just a bitter, humorless, thoroughly irrelevant little mouse. Take it from me, the book will be in the $4.95 bin in a few weeks. Even then, don't waste your money.

LH

Another fact he flung at his tiny, badly-dressed book store audience, was that people came to Free Republic and stayed for 5+ hours, making us an unbeatable force since Liberals suffer from ADD and can't stay with anything longer than the average bowel movement. (I paraphrased that last bit) Paraphrased yes, but it is still the basic truth about Liberals.

Praise God for Jim Robinson, FR, the internet and talk radio. Together, they (and we) are responsible for the Bush presidency. I thank the Lord every day!
alterman and his ilk will soon go the way of the buggy whip.

I live in Florida and took to the streets of Jacksonville in 2000- but I had never heard of Free Republic at the time.
My sign was to the effect that the Scofla(ws) should crouch down and lick the hands of the DNC. (May their chains rest lightly upon them and may history forget they were our countrymen.)
Coming on the heels of the Cole, I will never forget or forgive the statements of Bill Nelson and Bob Graham who supported the actions of Gore's lawyers in throwing out military ballots...even if Nelson has voiced his support for Estrada.
Eric Alterman must have mistaken Florida for New Jersey. After their supreme court shenanigans they elected the Lout- after ours- we re-elected JEB Bush.

I heard this guy on being interviewed on the radio in my neck of the woods. To illustrate just where his point of view is coming from, check this out. After refusing to admit that any part of the media had been liberal since 1980, the topic moved onto entertainment. While admitting that he watched very little in the way of movies, he felt that there was not as much liberal influence as people said, and that there were tons of conservative movies.
The host said, "Really? Name one."
After some pauses and verbal shifting, he finally came up with, "When I was in Nicaragua, I remember seeing a movie on TV about the Nicaraguans invading the United States. The movie was very popular in the U.S."
The host replied, "Do you mean 'Red Dawn'? That movie is from 1983. Are you saying that a cult movie from 20 years ago is the best you can come up with as evidence for their being a huge amount of conservative movies?"
That pretty well summed up the entire exchange.
This guy is his own lunatic fringe. I wouldn't waste any more bandwith on him than absolutely necessary.

Yes, if it weren't for Free Republic, Al Gore would be running the War On Terror. I wonder how Jim Robinson feels about single-handedly saving Western Civilization?

Ya know...........I don't know who this little pissant is, but I saw him on Bill O'Reilly's show the other night (Cal Thomas was guest hosting), and literally......LITERALLY........I just wanted to reach out and slap the livin' s**t out of that smirking little giggling dweeb.
Note to the Left: If THAT'S the best you've got......little snickering, condescending pantywaists who probably were beat up in the schoolyard regularly.........you've got far, far bigger problems than even I realized.

I wonder what Alterman's screen name was before he got himself banned.

I flipped through and saw him mention that there's no left-wing bias, since there's a "Market Watch" but not a "Labor Watch." I waited a bit to see if he mentioned what percentage of working people invest in the market (buying stakes in companies) or whose paychecks come from companies. He didn't get around to that. He's a poor speaker, to boot.
