Ms. President attracting one vote at a time

You have to hand it to them. Leftists are nothing if not tenacious.

Monday’s New York Times reported that a couple of rich Chicago Democrats are trying to put together a liberal radio network to counterbalance Rush Limbaugh and other conservative talkers. The fat cats have selected a CEO with a mission: "The object of the programming is to be progressive and make a statement that counters this din from the right."

Listening to that din chatter might make one think that conservatives tightly control the entire media. That’s preposterous.

As has been persuasively and repeatedly documented, much of the media, including the TV networks, major newspapers, and newsmagazines, is about as conservative as Chairman Mao.

They manipulate news and pretend it’s all so very objective. The arched brows, vocal inflections, and condescending sneers convey the news readers’ prejudices more effectively than if they hung a neon sign advertising their undying allegiance to the Democrat Party over their moussed hairdos. It’s all the news you need to know. Through their eyes.

Yet they continue to insist that their reporting is impartial, unbiased, objective, and balanced. It’s clearly not. Want a very recent example?

It’s been widely reported that former Illinois senator Carol Moseley Braun (or is it Moseley-Braun?) has been exploring the possibility of forming a committee to explore the prospect of running for the Democratic presidential nomination. In political circles, "exploring" generally means I’ve already explored, have nothing better to do for the next few months, and I’m running as long as I can get some upfront money.

So Carol’s been roaming the early, crucial nominating states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. She’s even handing out signs that say "Ms. President," which may seem a little presumptuous at this stage, but Carol’s never been known for her modesty.

Something newsworthy occurred while Ms. Moseley Braun was traipsing through Iowa. You wouldn’t know it if you read the Washington Post or New York Times or Chicago Tribune. You wouldn’t know it if you watch the network news on CBS, NBC or ABC.

You wouldn’t know it if you read the Associated Press account of her visit. The AP delivers information – 20 million words a day - to thousands of news outlets around the world.

In its 12-paragraph story, the AP didn’t see fit to report how many voters came out in inclement weather to see our former senator. The closest it came was in a caption accompanying a picture, one that wouldn’t be printed in many newspapers, of the exploring candidate in Des Moines on Saturday. It mentioned she’d spoken "to a small group."

The Des Moines Register story revealed precisely how small that group was. Only one voter, a man who went to law school with her, showed up to cheer Carol on. About a dozen reporters were there, and a handful of Moseley Braun staffers. That’s what comprised the "small group."

I contend that anytime any legitimate candidate, particularly a former U. S. senator, can only attract one voter to a rally, the event is remarkable enough to warrant reporting. And I can virtually guarantee that if the candidate were Jeb Bush or anyone else slight right of center, the occasion would have received much more extensive coverage.

Ms. Moseley Braun is a different story, however. As a big spending, anti-war, pro-abortion Democrat – forgive the redundancy -, she gets a pass. A humiliation is overlooked as she scampers on to New Hampshire where she attracted, according to one published report, a crowd of 20 people.

It would have been helpful if the article identified how many staffers and reporters were there. Carol may not be as popular in New Hampshire as she is in Iowa.

Little wonder that millions of Americans, tired of the Leftist media propaganda, turn to talk radio for a chance to get the truth. Part of it, anyway.

That was such a sweet story. I almost hit my head on the wall reading it!

On another level though, it is so sad that the stupid wench doesn't realize that she is being used by rich white liberals to quell an "uppity slave". A "slave" who forgot his place.

Got a kick out of what her best friend said:

"If she makes a good showing, she enhances her reputation nationally. Then maybe the press here begins to understand that she is more than a pretty face."

A pretty face? Well, maybe compared to Lieberman and the others. And even then only if you're grading on a generous curve.

I'm pretty sure I saw this same speaking engagement on Cspan a night or two ago During the time I watched it, it never showed the audience. Then again, I didn't watch it all that long.

The thing that gets me the maddest is that this idiot has the brass balls to stand there and spout her crap when, if the general public were shown the truth of her background, they would realize she is an arrogant, ignorant, criminal and thief.

Just cause she goes on a couple of year hiatus, hoping people will forget her crimes..................

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!
