Thanks for the ping. Anybody want to start a pool on what percent of the vote the Rat primary winner will get? 15%? 20? Maybe 25? Beside Hynes, we already have Chico, Hull, Obama, and Pappas. Plus maybe Daley!

It looks like Downstate will decide the winner of the Dem primary. Blagojevich won the primary last year, because he was white and thus took the Downstate vote. Apart from Blair Hull, the other declared candidates are not Caucasian. I think Hynes will win it with a decent chunk of the Cook County vote and then emerge as the winner with the Downstate vote.

2002 Illinois Democratic Primary

United States Congressman Rod Blagojevich: 36.6%
Chicago School Superintendant Paul G. Vallas: 34.4%
Former State Attorney General Roland W. Burris: 29.0%
