The recall from office of a school board member in a medium-size Southern California city wouldn't normally be big news. But the ouster last week of Santa Ana Unified School District's Nativo Lopez should send a signal to ethnic-enclave politicians across the state, if not the nation.

Lopez was a close ally of like-thinking Latino politicians who have become a dominant force in the Democratic Party and the California Legislature. They think they are the wave of the future. But last week's election in Santa Ana suggest that their ways are fast becoming a thing of the past.

Excellent news! Expect further sneaky attempts to perpetuate bilingual education, that separatist life-trap for the children of Latin American immigrants. If the communities affected are as staunch and sensible as this one, the tide will turn.

This is so great - finally parents have realized that because their children were not taught English - they cannot find jobs. Who will hire a person to serve the public when they cannot read, write, speak or understand English. Any idiot can see the illogic of this.

However, we have a whole generation out there who are totally dependent upon the govt because they cannot function outside their own language. Pathetic liberal policies.

Santa Ana is where they had the terrible voter fraud in '96 that caused bob dornan to be turned out of office. Santa Ana is also overwhelmingly mexican, lots of recent immigrants.

this guy gets it

"Arturo Lomeli, a Santa Ana dentist who was born in Mexico and who is president of the Downtown Business Association, told the Los Angeles Times that he voted for the recall because he was convinced that Lopez was trying to re-create Mexico in Santa Ana.

"You don't come to the United States and say, 'I'd like to live in a city that looks like Mexico.' ... You want nice things. You don't get them with a Nativo Lopez," Lomeli said."

"This recall wasn't just about Nativo Lopez," he (Lopez) said as returns rolled in. "It was to keep our people in check."

What a pathetic, lying, lowlife SOB this Lopez guy is. HE was the one who was trying to keep "his people" in check.

Hmmm... Sounds like some potential GOP voters down there in Santa Ana. But not to worry. There are plenty of pastey-faced Pubies out there who'll call them all "illegals" and rail about immigration. That'll push 'em back into the arms of the Democrat Party.

"I hate it when people say because he's a Latino, he's going to do things for Latinos," Milanes said.

I hear that regularly, until that mentality goes away we are going to continue to be stuck with Mecha jerks like this.
