Bump. At least the Economist covered it; that's a first.

I don't like their title. My title would have been:

"Conservatives unleashed are a patriotic bunch, and the Clintons should be frightened by them"

I wonder if the Economist has a Correspondent at this PAC:

Role of the Church in Black America (On C-SPAN, Eight Hours of . . . ?)

Just give it a little time. France is doing so well that we will probably be able to host a global conservative conference from Paris in a couple of years. The socialist weenies should be scared.

I think the most interesting line was their counting of college students! Guess they aren't supposed to think for themselves and forget everything they were taught at home when they go to their alama mater.

The Economist has been drifting leftward, in particular over the past 3-4 years. It is really a pity - however their finest hour was being among the first publications to tell Bill Clinton to resign.

If you look at it that way, I concur.

These are hopefully the death rattles of the Lamestream Media.

No, not really. If I recall correctly, they endorsed Bush in 1992, Dole in 96, and Bush in 2000. It's odd - they have a smattering of leftist articles, then a smattering of conservative ones, and then endorsement time, they generally make the right choice.

This is interesting... the leftist press generally ignores CPAC. Suddenly this year we see a number of hit pieces trying to paint the convention as an assembly of wild-eyed loons thirsting for blood, and whining about its malign effect on young impressionable minds.

As Gandhi said, "First they ignore you; then they laugh at you; then they fight you; then you win."

But love for Mr Bush has not blotted out their hatred for his predecessor.

Damn Skippy!!

Last weekend more than 4,000 conservative activists—1,700 of them college students—gathered in Arlington, Virginia
eeeeeghads, they realize they are loosing ground in the most sacred of their hallow halls!

Why hold the conference in Virginia, where conservatism is in the drinking water and liberal-baiting a sport? Next year, try Paris.
Well, that could be fun!!!!!

Fair enuff...as I look back at the article, I now recognize that this did not come from the Economist's Editorial page, so I take back my slur against the paper in general. This particular correspondent, though, is a Leftist DOLT in the Molly Ivins mold, IMHO...MUD

BTW...we oughtta FReep this chick with a ton of emails from individual FReepers who either were at CPAC or wish they could have been.

LOL Hi TLBSHOW and POE. See? There I am with Dio allowing Terry McAwful to have his picture taken with us! How can the Economist accuse us of "brimm(ing) with hatred at the dastardly liberal establishment"? But seems they hate the FRench too. From what I read, this is the actual article:

"We are impotent in our anger, meanspirited attacks, slander, we hate conservatives, more hate, anger, we LOST, furious, we hate them!...Clinton Library... they will tell the truth...venemous hatred, impotent anger, furious, can't do anything about it but slander in the media, hate, hate, mean-spirited hate. " The Economist.

LOL And there were YOUNG on the way! Shiver all over :)
CPAC makes them quake! lol
