Park Ranger Cites Militia Leader, Seizes His Gun

A National Park Service ranger cited militia leader Chris Simcox Sunday for carrying a loaded weapon and operating without a permit at Coronado National Memorial in southeastern Arizona.

The chief ranger at the park south of Sierra Vista, Thane Weigand, said it appeared Simcox and William Dore were conducting a patrol of the border. "They were doing a special activity inside the park that's not sanctioned by the park," Weigand said.

Simcox, founder of the Tombstone group Civil Homeland Defense, has been conducting citizen patrols of the border area, but he said that's not what he was doing Sunday afternoon. He said he was simply hiking with Dore.

They were driving along Border Road when they came to a fence with a sign that said no vehicles were permitted, Simcox said. So they parked the van and walked past the fence along the road, not knowing the fence was the park boundary, Simcox said.

"Next thing I know, there's somebody waiting in the bushes for us," Simcox said.

It was a park ranger, who said she had been watching the pair, knew who they were and what they were up to, Simcox said. He and Dore were detained for about 3 1/2 hours, and some belongings were seized, Simcox said. Those belongings included a scanner, two two-way radios, his camera, a cell phone and his pistol.

Weigand said the charges against Simcox and Dore are misdemeanors.

And just to refresh our memory about what motivated Mr. Simcox and the Tombstone Militia into action....

Borders? We ain't got no borders. We don't need no borders. I don't have to show you any stinking borders!

Veiled insinuations aimed at me are revealing about you, too.

Funny. But you know on a serious note, the Mexican immigrants both legal and illegal have contributed greatly to our economy. They have brought forth a labor force unmatched for decades. Besides, I love Mexican food and a frozen margarita grande (no salt please.)

Well I guess there is one more thing. Some of my cousins are of Mexican descent. One is career Navy, one is in the Army in the gulf right now, and another travels the world doing something (I ain't sure what) with computer programming...just know he makes a lot more money than me.

No slur on Mexicans, per se, only a condemnation of those that are illegal immigrants.

So what did you think of the ideas in 377 & 378?

paraphrased: "Or do you want to just post angry, empty threats?"

First I don't post threats. You know that.

So tell us how we defend our borders from an evil such as 911? And yes, I want to do something about it.

Sure, I'm ready to volunteer my services. About all I am good at is that I am an expert marksman.

What do you have in mind?

Just kidding. I feel guilty and seek forgiveness when I kill a spider on my keyboard. Who would know the difference between a brown recluse that can kill you when some spider scuttles across your path?

Anyway, give us/me your politically correct and lawful way to protect ourselves? What to do? You tell us boot...since inquiring minds want to know.

Keep in mind we know right from wrong. We know what God has given us, and we know what our Constitution expounds.

Okay, you have my/our undivided atttention. So since you posed the question," Or do you want to do something that just might work? " The floor is yours "Mr. Speaker."

Glad to. You detailed a specific problem, relating to the immigration problem, in 376 and I proposed a specific solution in 377 & 378. I've yet to hear any comments on it. (BTW, I've emailed that suggestion to Mr. Simcox.)

Why not post a big sign that says, "Illegals Enter Here! National Park Service is looking out for you."

Non responsive. Once again, you posed the question, "Or do you want to do something that just might work?"
My answer is yes. So again, what is your proposition toward remedy?

Of course it is responsive. Let me walk you through it again. I did pose that question, and it was preceded by a solution to a specific immigration problem you posed. You posed the problem, I proposed the solution and asked whether you wanted to do it. So do you want to do it?

You've never posed the problem nor the solution? Sure you dance, just out of step.

Simcox has recognized a problem and is now seeking a solution. What is your proposal? Exactly just what "might work?" You suggested it, now expound on it. Inquiring minds what to know. If you can't, then at least have the courage to admit so. And don't pose questions like what "just might work" when you don't have a follow up of your own.

You're slipping, I never said that. Go back and read it again. I said: "You posed the problem, I proposed the solution and asked whether you wanted to do it". So, again, do you want to do it?

I've never given an inch. I don't give. And I especially don't give up. You Mr. Speaker posed the question, "'Or do you want to do something that just might work?"

I say yes. So what is your offer? You got one or not? You seek to walk the walk and talk the talk but fail to deliver over and over again. Give me/us your proposal or stand aside and admit you don't have an answer.

It's okay. I don't either. Noone does. Many of us just know that "Homeland in-Security" ain't it...and realize that Simcox could be on the right track afterall. Only time will tell.

The big question is will the gun grabbing socialistic demos win?
