The Democrats are in the process of shutting down the Senate to stop the GOP from chairing Senate hearings.

They using procedural rules or a filibuster? Either way, denying the majority party committee chairmanship has to be a new low in Senate partisanship...

Senator Sarbanes speaking - He has a problem with allocation of committee resources (i.e. staffing) for the Democrats.

I wonder if we have reached the point where our Government can no longer function. I blame the RATS though, and perhaps it was destined to end this way.

Obstructionism... They are begging for a 50 50 split in committee funding based on the Monstrosity created last year when Jumpin Jeffords fouled the nest.

Up to that time it was 1/3 to 2/3, but when the Turncoat took the bribe the democrats changed the funding proportions to 49/50 because the change was not a voter change. The demoRATS are having trouble understanding why the Senate should be returned back to the old funding proportions. Apparently the Democrats are unable to understand or tolerate the authority of the voters.

I emailed Sean Hannity. Hopefully he talks about this. It's so frickin unbelievable. I cannot believe the audacity of the senate democrats. Screw 'em.

I think it's called running rings around Frist and his lack of knowledge of senatorial procedures.

He could ask Trent Lott for help but i see the Dems trying to stymie everything, starting with procedural rules and committee makeup and budgets and staff and everything else.

Been watching since this morning. This is disgusting. Contacted both my Dem Senators telling them to knock it off, but I am not holding my breath.

The Democrats are in the process of shutting down the Senate to stop the GOP from chairing Senate hearings.

They are bluffing. They don't have that ability.

U.S. Constitution Article I.

Section 5.

...a Majority of each [House of Congress] shall constitute a Quorum to do Business... and may be authorized to compel the Attendance of absent Members, in such a Manner, and under such Penalties as each House may privide.

The Republicans don't even need for the Rats to show up to do business. They can also compel them to attend.

Will the steel-spined Republicans resolve this issue by handing all control over to the Democrats? Probably.
