The Democrats are in the process of shutting down the Senate to stop the GOP from chairing Senate hearings.

They are bluffing. They don't have that ability.

U.S. Constitution Article I.

Section 5.

...a Majority of each [House of Congress] shall constitute a Quorum to do Business... and may be authorized to compel the Attendance of absent Members, in such a Manner, and under such Penalties as each House may privide.

The Republicans don't even need for the Rats to show up to do business. They can also compel them to attend.

Or they can convene all 51 in the middle of the night, and do business......(what I would do.)

The Dems are using the resolution that routinely funds committee staff as the weapon to stall transfer of power. Incredible.

The Republicans don't even need for the Rats to show up to do business.

They should just start passing legislation 51-0 and sending it up to Bush for signature. That ought to get Daschle's attention.

The RATs can use filibusters. Almost all Senate business can be filibustered.
