The Democrats are in the process of shutting down the Senate to stop the GOP from chairing Senate hearings.They are bluffing. They don't have that ability.

Section 5.
...a Majority of each [House of Congress] shall constitute a Quorum to do Business... and may be authorized to compel the Attendance of absent Members, in such a Manner, and under such Penalties as each House may privide.
The Republicans don't even need for the Rats to show up to do business. They can also compel them to attend.
