well, you got some points I must admit. Gephardt really does go far to left in last 10 years, you're right about that. That web site you gave us is really nice, I was wrong about my hasty conclusion it being an anti-gephardt place.

But I like the fact that in 84 Gephardt publicly promoted the sliding scale tariff thing. That is where if a nation is trading with us and buying from us approximately what we buy from them in terms of dollar volume, then we put zero tariff on their goods. Say if the ratio of imports from them over exports to them is only 1.5 to 1.0, then we have zero tariffs. But if it goes to 2-1, then we put a tariff on and we escalate the tariff based on how bad the trade imbalance is. With China our trade imbalance is 5-1, for them it should be a 200% tariff until they change. They can change. It is currently economical for them to buy lots of food from us and they are refusing. Bush looks at this same issue and he goes the WTO route. In other words Bush screws the US and gephardt does not.

So, if it is a choice between gephardt and bush at the voting booth I'll choose gephardt. Precisely because my eyes are wide open.

You being a republican cheerleader I'm not sure you know this, but the biggest issue in america today is our trade posture. Manufacturing is being destroyed in America. Our biggest manufacturer and exporter is Boeing and they are planning on shutting down american operations and producing in Shanghai. So, lots of high paid manufacturing jobs have been flushed and are scheduled to be flushed in the future. Our trade deficit makes up 4.5% of our GDP. This is unprecedented in world history. Only a fool (or a Bush) would say this is good for our country to flush manufacturing down the drain. Since the Bush/Clinton/Bush axis of bad economic policy has gotten us into these trade agreements without looking out for the American interest we've been trading with China now for 15 years with their currency pegged artificially low to the US dollar. In other words our manufacturers simply have the rules rigged against them. A Replican is too stupid to see any problem here. A Republican looks down his nose at anyone who lost their job over these types of stupid policies and says something rotten to the person over it. Gephardt is better than this, even though he's been on the liberal side now for 10-15 years. But I also remember Gephardt giving fiery speeches against the World Trade Organization. President Bush's WTO may be good for big corporations who provide fewer and fewer jobs in america each year, but it is not good for the americans themselves. Do we want a New World Order dictator or do we want an American to be our president?

I also remember Gephardt voting for Reagan's tax cut in 81. He gave a big speech saying that Reagan was too timid, that the tax cut should be much bigger.

If I thought America could no longer compete with the world I might be for a tax on goods-paid by American consumers, and proposed by Gephardt 20 years ago too.
But I'm for free trade because I think America is strong and I realize that, just like people, the world changes.
America is no longer a manufacturing economy, and it ain't going back.
Those $20 an hour unskilled assembly line jobs for illiterates are gone for good. In its place are services and information jobs.

I do not think the non-thinking conservatives should vote for a man who is pro-taxes pro-abortion and anti-gun like Gebhardt because we might lose your vote. Since Reagan, Bush, and Dubya have all been for free trade it is likely that we did just fine without your vote for 25 years.

See you at the polls when you cancel out my vote for a pro-life pro-2nd ammendment pro taxcut candidate.

Jesus wept!

I am a Republican Cheerleader.
I think my party is right on taxes, crime, free trade, abortion, 2nd Amendment, and free speech.
You like the biggest liberal on the block and you call yourself a conservative.

A conservative supports even 'insignificant' tax cuts, not the man who voted against it.

Free trade is a conservative idea. It means goods cost the american people less. thats good for me and my family. A free market is a good thing. It a conservative thing.

Increasing taxes(tariffs) and protecting jobs just cause they are jobs is a liberal idea. Taken to its logical conclusion we could just have our government mandate that all people must work and all prices must be set by government.

That's not conservatism. That's communism Red.

The facts do not support your worldview. Time for you to get a better one.

This will not happen. Hillary is not supernatural. There is no metaphysical inevitability that Hillary is going to be president.

Hillary running and Hillary winning are two different things.

It is safe to assume that she will elbow out of the way whoever she needs to in order to secure a spot for herself if'n she gets a wild hair and her adoring masses beg her to save them from George Bush, or whoever is the evil one when the time comes.

(Continued because I forgot to add something.)

Chances are she wouldn't win if she did get the nod because her negatives are way too high. But, if she did manage to win I would be willing to bet that her reign as dictator would be very short, one month, tops. I think that even the Lord Himself will say 'enough is enough' when she perverts her Presidential Oath. She would blaspheme the name of God even worse than her worthless husband did.

Enjoying the game so far?

Well, I was until I fell asleep, but I know the result now and it's typical of stupid Big 10 coaching against west coast teams over the years.

It's amazing to me that they never seem to learn, and they almost always lose the same way every year, but good for USC, they earned it.

Hillary...laying low...rubbing her hands...

...waiting for her invitation to be a running mate

...so she can arrange a "suicide" (she has plenty of experience with that!)

...and then TAKE OVER THE WORLD AHHHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!

It's no embarrassment to lose to USC right now. They were playing the best football in college, bar none.

The punishment they get for that is that Carson Palmer will have to go play for the Bengals. Ha ha.

Has she got that Dr. Evil pinky finger ij the corner of the mouth thing down yet?

PS: Couldn't she just wait until a month before the election, when the assigned dimo-flop candidate is 20 points down in the polls, and then jump in after the flopper resigns? Been known to happen, donchaknow.

What a joke all those poor demos are, they are poor in character, values, intelligence, etc. That is why they don't get it - they are repudiated because of their darkened hearts.

Sharpton or Nadler would take the title for Blimpie.

Nadler got his stomach stapled...haven't seen any recent pics, though.
