During the rainfall year 7-1-2001 to 6-31-2002, San Diego set a record for the driest year with less than 3 inches total. We are currently already over 1 1/2 inches behind for the current year. Please send some of this our way, we need it.

Ick! I don't look forward to this stormy weekend. I just went to Costco for food and stopped for milk before coming home. I hate the high winds.

Well, I hope it waits until Saturday night to hit the Central Coast - we're planning to finish our outdoor Christmas decorating Saturday morning. After that's done, as AlBore would say, "Let 'er rip!"

First we have floods, then we have possible snow predicted the first 4 days of next week.

Due to winters like this, if I ever get rich, I will leave Kali about 1 Dec and go to Chili or New Zealand until about 1 March.

When we have all these high tides that we started having a couple of weeks ago, some rains to fill in those settlement ponds , lakes or whatever down river like this week, we could have the formula for some very expensive flooding.

Throw in a couple of 12 inch rain days plus really high tides and no place for the water to go down stream and Shazam, we have floods again.

Your area is under a severe warning watch now, and then more storms will be coming Friday through Tues/Wed..

Stay safe, dry and have plenty of food and dry fire wood and candles/lanterns if the power goes off in your area.

Well. I guess I won't be going to the range this weekend. Looks like I'll just be trying to stay dry, and making sure the flashlights have fresh batteries.

"Major Rain Event." Is that what in olden times we called a "storm?"

making sure the flashlights have fresh batteries.

I've been hankering for one of those LED jobs, with the multi-hundred-hour battery life. Maybe Santa will bring me one.

And I thought re-routing the river and the new Third Street bridge was supposed to fix all that. ;-) All that Hwy 29/Trancas construction can't be helping either.

I got one of LL Bean's small LED that operates off 3 small hearing aid type batteries for my fly fishing pack.

The light this little less than 3 inches long and about .5 inches in diameter puts out is amazing.

I will be buying one of the ones that fits on your fishing hat. The light put out by one of these little guys is really great.

I have a couple of the small LED flashlights. They work well. I'd like to have one the BIG ones though.
