"I dare the president of the United States to arrest Americans who are protecting their own country," said Chris Simcox, the teacher-turned-newspaper owner who has formed the Tombstone, Ariz., Militia.

Can you say "Branch Davidians?"

The Feds will not hesitate to murder these people. Their authority cannot be questioned.

It seems these people are really different from the "Branch Dividians". I will really be interesting to see how this plays out, could be possible field or in the courts. Their frustration is understandable - they rationalize, it seems, a stand must be taken now or simply give up.

With the large Hispanic population in the area, it seems the politicians are too afraid to really stem the tide. It seems these people are really different from the "Branch Dividians". Could it be, with the large Hispanic population in the area, it seems the politicians are too afraid to really stem the tide. Simply put, we are being invaded.

...until Mr. Bush puts U.S. troops on the border to stop the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants coming into the state each year and the resulting vandalism of public and private land.

The headline might also read "local militia demands US military presence on American soil."
I have to admit to some reservations about that.

Chris Simcox held an organizational meeting last weekend and had a turnout of between 40 and 50 people interested in his Homeland Security Patrol (loose recollection of the name...).

They were outnumbered by nearly 2:1 by the presstitutes who were there to discover the truth about drunken red-neck vigilantes. They were sorely disappointed, and this article is a result. There were lots of cameras, but you won't see any pictures because the pictures the press wanted weren't there!!!

This will play out for good or bad, and soon. Both of our Senators and two Representatives were on hand for a border tour early last week. To some people they said they were amazed at the huge scope of the problem. To others, they said they didn't learn anything new. Actually, those were John McCain's words. Darned RINO.

When you are facing an invasion of people who are intent on stealing your property and turning it into their own, who else do you expect to see on the border? The Freakin' Boy Scouts?

"The hearings are being sought by Rep.-elect Raul Grijalva, Arizona Democrat; Gov.-elect Janet Napolitano; current Arizona Gov. Jane Hull; and state Rep. Robert Cannell, Yuma Democrat, and are expected to focus on the Tombstone Militia and other civilian militia groups and citizen patrols that have sprung up along Arizona's border with Mexico."

TRAITORS ALL!

These 'folks' are more concerned with American citizens protecting their border than all the criminals flooding across it. The stupid Arizona governor could use the State guard to help solve the problem but naaaaa, that would be constructive. So instead of the using government power to go after illegals and try to help the situation they want to use the government apparatus to go after law abiding Americans. Well I say SCREW THEM AHOLES!

Please educate yourself on this issue and resist the lies of the leftists. You've already let them make you believe a bunch of rot about using the military.

We are starting to have problems here in Iowa as well. In places like Marshalltown and my hometown of Mason City, the crime rate is rising and those being prosecuted are Mexicans.

I agree the Feds would not hesitate to take out Mr. Simcox and his fellow citizens. I don't see this as a Branch Davidians thing. Mr. Simcox and his supporters are different. The backlash against the federal government would me severe if they attempted such a task. This is simply a group of people trying to protect their families and property and not a "cult."

Maybe if they killed them backlash would be severe, and that's understandable.

If they are all arrested, which is fairly likely in my opinion, backlash won't be severe at all. Besides that this just isn't that big of an issue for most people, you've got a guy who looks like a nut. Combine those two things, and you get a postcard from prison that reads "wish you were here."

By the way, "Tombstone Tumbleweed?" Are these mexican restaurants? In my neck of the woods, they have Mexican restaurants with the same name. If so, I think that would be pretty darn close to ironic, but that's just me...

I agree with you, however some people in this forum would rather place their trust somewhere else. Sadly, this place isn't what it used to be.

Why? Isn't the first duty of the US military to protect our boarders?

You're right. The Branch Davidians were minding their own business.
