"...Today Nancy Pelosi is using the tricks of New Deal politics
(whatever that may mean in post-defeat Democratland)
for her very own purpose
which remains an intriguing mystery at the moment..."

"Nancy Pelosi, who (rumors of botox notwithstanding) looks a fabulous 40 on TV and a well-made-up 50 in person,.."
Nancy is definitely a hot babe.

They are one and the same. She can SAY that she stands shoulder to shoulder with the president while in FACT being the highest democrat voting against the President on the war with Saddam.
The days when people could get away with it are over. The President will not call her to task now, but at election time, the President of the United States will make her wish she really did support him.

"America Firster" (those who blame America first before looking for the real culprit). British wit.

I don't buy it. Nancy Pelosi has too much baggage to be a successful presidential candidate, i.e., her record. She will not play well in Peoria at all, at all. She is also Catholic, which I think is still a handicap for a presidential candidate. Furthermore, the Clintons still run the Party.
However, she may very well be Hillary's running mate in 2008. This is something to be feared. You heard it here first.

Nancy Pelosi could be Hillary's worst nightmare! Nope. Hillary's worst nightmare is that next time Bill will get caught using a 15 year old as his recepticle.

She's the Italian version of a Kennedy with the whole family sucking off the public teat.
"Congresswoman Pelosi comes from a strong family tradition of public service. Her father, Thomas D'Alesandro, Jr., served as Mayor of Baltimore for 12 years, after representing the city for five terms in Congress, where he served on the Appropriations Committee.
Her brother, Thomas D'Alesandro III, also served as Mayor of Baltimore. Rep. Pelosi graduated from Trinity College in Washington, D.C. in 1962. She and her husband, Paul Pelosi, a native of San Francisco, have five children: Nancy Corinne, Christine, Jacqueline, Paul and Alexandra, and five grandchildren."

Nancy is not only "progressive" code for extreme left among the Democrats but also one of the moneyed elite with some pretensions to intellectual ability and a family background to lean upon when necessary. There's that word "progressive" again. The are so afraid of the "L-word" they are trying to renames for themselves. Ever notice how liberals are always making up new names for things when perception becomes too negative, instead of addressing what it is that annoys people in the first place? A liberal is a liberal is a liberal. And a limosine liberal is the worst of the bunch.
Progressive my ass.

And among her San Francisco constituents are many representatives of America's wealthiest and most vocal minority those with alternative lifestyles How ironic, considering that Hillary lives an alternative lifestyle, but can't talk about it for fear of ruining her political career.
