BATON ROUGE - Agriculture Commissioner Bob Odom will go to court Monday on charges of public bribery despite prosecution efforts to delay the corruption trial.
Prosecutors argued in a hearing Friday that the district court did not have jurisdiction to hold trial while previous court rulings are on appeal.

The indictment charges him with:
· Two counts of conspiracy to commit public bribery.
· Three counts of pubic bribery.
· One count of conspiracy to commit felony theft.
· Five counts of felony theft.
· One count of conspiracy to commit extortion.
· One count of extortion.
· One count of filing or maintaining false public records.
· Two counts of conspiracy to commit malfeasance in office.
· Two counts of malfeasance in office.
· One count of money laundering.
· One count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.
· One count of obstruction of justice.
The District Attorney's Office subpoenaed thousands of pages of records dealing with Odom's election campaigns, his personal financial records, a loan from his campaign fund to the First Baptist Church of Zachary, financial records on his son's house in Zachary and his daughter-in-law's financial records.
Prosecutors also subpoenaed corporate income tax files and other records associated with a food-storage contract between AMW Management Services Inc. and Odom's agency.
