The Democrats have been looking for a tit-for-tat payback for the revelation by Ronald Reagan that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, in the days just before the 1994 election. They've never forgotten it, and many of them cling to the belief that it was a big reason they got their heads handed to them that time.

To me it's obvious that is what they are hoping will happen with Wellstone's death.
