Saw a new Christian movie this weekend in theaters ... thought it was good ... it's not too well-known, so I thought I'd share it with Christian FReepers ... please ping other Christian FReepers who may be interested ...

I've been emailing back and forth with one of the producers ... I contacted them about purchasing some movies and wound up chatting with the guy for about a week and a half ... great guy ... his brother wrote the film and he was on board for the project as well (they've done several)

if you like evangelistic movies, you'll probably like this one ... if not, you might want to skip it ... FWIW ...

I'll post the link so you can search for theaters in your area ... you may need to get out there quick because if there isn't a strong crowd it may not survive in theaters more than one week ... good luck ...

Thanks for the heads up..Looks interesting. Only problem for me, it's only listed as showing in ONE cinema here in PA...Hopefully, it's not too far away.

I appreciate the reminder. The movie has some good actors; in the trailer I saw, the lead seemed stilted and not-quite-there. Interesting premise; you liked it?

yeah it's OK ... pretty good overall but there is a little bit of uneveness in the lead actor ... obviously the production is not on a par with a $30 million Hollywood production ... I've liked many of the things these guys have put out ... and Rich Christiano always has an interesting kicker at the end of his films (I own't spoil it for obvious reasons) ... (his brother Dave does too in his films ... Dave Christiano is the guy I've been emailing with a bit) ... they had some really great movies along those themes, available at Amazon.Com such as "End of the Harvest", "The Moment After" and "Late One Night". So I was trying to help these guys out and let people know about it.

There is another one called "Future Tense" by Mars Hill, another group that was pretty good ...

I'll give you the basic plot ... (warning: SMALL SPOILER)

In 1890 a seminary professor wishes to publish a book which promotes secular theories ... another professor stands in opposition to him, declaring he must go further ...

this is because this professor's father built a time travel device and although he died before he could use it, the professor-son was successful ... he saw how the future turns out and decides more impact must be made upon the secular world ...

So he sends the doubting professor forward in time, to our current day, to see the future ... like anyone from the 1800's would be, he's unprepared for current times ... (some might consider him a prude, but one has to allow that this is a traveler from 1890 ... the whole issue is desensitizing people) ... he's mostly shocked by the overwhelming impact of media ...

Interestingly, his greatest "enemies" are a couple of church-going guys ... they decide to find out what he's all about ...

END SPOILER ALERT - LEAVE NOW!!! (hehe)

he completes his journey and decides to alter his writings ... the professor who operated the time machine is intrigued by the time traveler's question, "how far in the future can the machine reach?" ... the professor decides to find out by trying to send a vintage Bible forward in time ... he discovers there is an end to time, a period when "time shall be no more" and at the end of the film he's busy decrementing the chronometer in an effort to find out the maximum date the time machine can reach ...

hope you get a chance ... I'm chatting with the co-producer now via email about the performance ... he's busy trying to make everything come off perfect (there's a minor 2-3 second technical issue of projection which 95% of most movie-goers won't notice ...) ... happens if the theater doesn't line up the projectors correctly I'm told ...
