DNC ^ | 10/22/2002 | Democratic Party

Some conniving devil put me on the DNC e-mail list. Here's this morning's as-usual-hysterical offering for compare, contrast, and comment purposes.

Special Interest Outrage: Lobbyists Lining Up at White House Door for 2003 Agenda!

With the midterm elections just two weeks away, the Bush administration and Republicans in Congress are working closely with big money special interest lobbyists to set their agenda for 2003.

What's on the menu?

More big tax cuts for corporations and the wealthiest Americans A fake Medicare prescription drug plan that doesn't help America's seniors Another attempt to cram Social Security privatization down the throats of Americans Laws to limit malpractice suits so insurance companies don't pay for medical mistakes If the Republicans gain control of Congress in 2002, working families will pay the price while the wealthiest Americans and special interests reap the benefits.

More drivel from the Scare-and-Gripe Division. All complaints, no ideas, no solutions.

Here's the banner which accompanied the missive and which includes (1) vaguely ethnic young woman; (2) vaguely androgynous middle-aged woman and (3) vaguely ... um ... Bela Lugosi? ... taking time-out from worrying about his Social Security and prescription drugs for a rare, sad smile.

Yea, right. That's why the Dims support Motor voter and same day registration.

Thanks for the post.

One of the keys to success, in any endeavor, is to know your opponent (Dims call us 'the enemy', I prefer the less hateful word: opponent).

Is the ability to vote just a right wing thing?

Notice it's "be informed of your rights" -- not "be informed about the issues." I have a hunch there is no more fearful thing to the post-Clinton DNC than a well-informed voter.

That's odd ......... this list doesn't encompass what Dim-o-crat (now former!!!) Senator Carol Moseley-Braun's campaign workers wanted me to do as a volunteer: "To help go into the polling place and tell people how to vote".
