From the sublime to the ridiculous

Sad thing is that if the Rats subvert the law and get their way Lautenberg will win easily. And that would infuriate the Torch. He once told Lautenberg, in front of the Senate Dem Caucus, that he (Lautenberg), "had no balls".

Lautenberg now the leading candidate as Pallone changes his mind

Former Sen. Frank Lautenberg will likely be the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, Democratic sources said shortly after 5 PM.. The 78-year-old Lautenberg could become the third candidate in less than 24 hours after a bizarre and startling turn of events.

Earlier this afternoon, Rep. Frank Pallone told Gov. James E. McGreevey that he would accept the Democratic nomination, but an hour later, he backed out of the race. Sources say that changed his mind at the urging -- or insistence -- of his wife, Sarah.

Lautenberg is en route to Trenton now, with an announcement by McGreevey expected soon.

I, for one, don't believe the Dumcraps have a snowballs chance in hell of getting anyone else on the ballot. Even if the NJSC rules they can do that.

In another thread on this subject, I state that this will go to the Supremes, and much like Florida, they will determine, exactly like Florida, that the Dumocraps are out of luck.

Now, where is that crow recipe?

Not good. Lautenberg has the $$$ to fund a real campaign. Not to mention good name ID.

From Mark Halperin/Elizabeth Wilner/Marc Ambinder:at ABC

According to numerous senior Democratic sources, Congressman Frank Pallone had accepted an offer from New Jersey Democrats to replace Senator Bob Torricelli as their candidate.

However, ABC News has learned that because of unresolved family issues, Pallone may be backing out of the race.

All sources say that the Pallone pick was signed off on by all the senior Democrats in Washington and New York (including Majority Leader Daschle, Torricelli, Governor Jim McGreevey, and Senatro Jon Corzine), and that an announcement was being planned for later today.

According to two sources, Pallone accepted without checking with his wife, who opposes his running.

The pick, and the timing, return to flux. Former Senator Frank Lautenberg

is said by many Democrats to be the alternative. Please do not respond to this mail. Questions or comments can be submitted at http://abcnews.go.com/service/abccontact.html

I don't see how they can legally replace his name on the ballot, especially since many have already gone out!! This whole thing p*sses me off to no end...the Dems are saying, "Yeah, we're gonna cheat. What about it?"

I wish there was one Republican in the Seante who had the grapefruits to say, "You know what, if they manage to pull this off, we WILL NOT SEAT Lautenberg. We'll block him, do whatever it takes, but we WILL NOT ALLOW this to happen."

Even if the NJSC rules they can do that.

Can you imagine all the crying, wailing and gnashing of teeth if the NJSC rules against them. It'll be Florida all over again, the "mean wascally Wepubwicans" stole another one.
